힙합 스타일을 응용한 패딩 패션디자인 연구

Abstract

패션은 다양한 문화적 요인들은 포함하고 있다. 이러한 현대의 문화적 다원주의로 인해 비주류의 구성원들이 등장하였고 이들을 통해 하위문화의 스타일들이 등장하였다. 이러한 하위문화 속에서 등장한 패션의 범주 중 하나인 힙합 패션은 현재 하위문화로 시작하여 대중문화 속에서 꾸준히 성장하였고 현재 주목받고 있다. 패딩은 기존 방한복으로서 등장하여 기능적인 역할을 하였으나 이제는 나아가 심미성 아이템으로써 주목받으면서 이를 활용한 컬렉션에서 등장을 쉽게 찾을 수 있다. 하지만 기능적이고 어려운 패턴과 쉽지 않은 제작 공정으로 인해 여전히 다양한 디자인이 제한되는 고정적인 측면이 있다. 또한 패딩은 기능적인 측면에서의 연구들이 주를 이루고 있다는 것에 착안하여 패딩이 대중문화의 트렌드인 힙합과의 결합한 측면에서 디자인적 연구는 필요한 실정으로 사료된다. 본 연구는 힙합 스타일 특징들을 패딩과 결합함으로써 힙합 패션 스타일과 패딩의 표현 가능성을 확대하고 제안하는 데 그 목적 및 의의가 있다. 본 연구의 내용 및 방법은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 힙합 패션 관련 전문 서적과 학위 논문 및 학술 연구지 등의 문헌 고찰을 통하여 힙합 패션의 개념과 등장 배경, 힙합의 요소, 힙합 패션의 특징, 힙합 패션의 스타일에 대해 분석하였다. 또한 인터넷 검색과 패션 컬렉션 자료를 중심으로 현대 힙합 패션디자인 실증 사례를 분석하였다. 둘째, 패딩 관련 전문 서적과 학위 논문 및 학술 연구지 등의 문헌 고찰을 통하여 패딩의 개념과 종류, 패딩의 특성에 대해 분석하였다. 또한 패션 컬렉션 자료를 중심으로 현대 패딩 패션디자인 실증 사례를 분석하였다. 셋째, 이상의 이론적 고찰과 분석을 토대로 힙합 패션 스타일을 적용한 4 착장의 패딩 패션디자인 작품을 디자인하고 제작하였다. 본 연구의 이론적 고찰로부터 얻은 내용을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 힙합 패션의 시기별 특징을 통해 힙합 요소와 스타일을 구분하여 음악 요소-다민족 스타일, 춤 요소-스포티브 스타일, 미술 요소-그라피티 스타일, 하위문화 요소-갱스터 스타일, 대중문화 요소-스트리트 스타일로 분류할 수 있었다. 둘째, 패딩에 대한 고찰을 통해 패딩 소재의 종류에 대해 분류하였고 패딩의 특성에서 기능적 측면과 미적 측면, 문화적 측면으로 분류하여 연구의 기법에 있어 사용할 수 있는 소재의 특성과 범위 선정의 중요함을 인식하게 되었다. 셋째, 현대 힙합 패션 스타일의 경향과 현대 패딩 패션 디자인에 관한 사례를 통해 힙합 패션의 스타일과 패딩의 특성을 결합한 디자인 연구에 대해 중요함을 인식할 수 있었다. 본 연구의 작품 제작을 통해 얻은 결론을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째. 힙합 패션 스타일의 특징을 중심으로 도식화를 제작하는 과정에서 패션디자인의 발상이나 창작의 원천으로서 힙합이 갖는 가치와 다양성에 대해 인식할 수 있었다. 둘째, 힙합 패션 스타일에 패딩을 접목함으로써, 기능적인 측면을 넘어서서 디자인적인 부분에서의 자유로운 표현 영역을 확대할 수 있었다. 셋째, 그라피티를 다양하게 배치함으로써 생동감과 예술적인 디자인 표현이 가능함을 알 수 있었으며, 안감 전면에 그라피티를 배치하여 겉감과 반전·대비되는 효과의 표현이 가능했다. 넷째, 패딩 디자인에 있어 O 라인의 전체적인 실루엣과 충전재의 양을 늘림으로써 방사형의 형태감을 표현할 수 있었다. 특히, 어깨 산의 트리밍에서의 겉 퀼팅 법이 구조적으로 더욱 크게 강조되어 미적 측면에서의 과장성이 두드러지게 표현되었으며, 패딩의 여러 겹 겹쳐 누비는 방식은 힙합 패션 스타일의 실루엣 표현에 효과적으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 패딩을 디자인에 접목하면서 패딩의 두께와 충전 량에 따라 실루엣의 다양한 변화와 결합이 나타났으며, 패딩 스티치를 여러 방법으로 활용하여 시각적 다양성이 표현되는 효과가 나타났다. 이러한 실루엣의 표현과 스티치의 표현으로 다양한 시각적 표현이 가능했다. 여섯째, 힙합 패션 스타일의 갱스터 스타일에서 블랙 컬러를 사용하여 소재를 구성하였으며, 이를 통해 블랙 컬러의 유광· 무광· 그라피티의 선택적 사용으로 화이트 컬러와의 색채 대비를 통해 강렬하고 도시적인 디자인 효과가 나타났고, 무채색의 블랙 컬러를 사용하여 제작함으로써 패딩의 구조적 스티치와 볼륨감의 표현에 효과적이었다. 연구의 한계점으로는 패딩의 시제품 디자인 제작에 있어 수납공간인 ‘포켓’의 디자인적 설계의 부재가 있었으며, 시제품 제작 시 보완이 필요할 것으로 보였다. 후속 연구에 대한 제안으로는 작품 제작 과정을 통해 다운 중량과 패딩의 두께에서 오는 부피감에 따른 표현 특징에 관한 구체적인 연구가 필요할 것으로 보였다. 본 연구는 힙합 패션의 스타일의 특징과 패딩 기법의 세부적인 특성 도출을 통해 두 가지를 결합하여 디자인 계획까지 진행할 수 있었다. ;Fashion contains various cultural factors. Due to this modern cultural pluralism, non-mainstream members emerged, and subculture styles emerged through them. Hip-hop fashion, one of the categories of fashion that emerged in these subcultures, has now grown steadily in popular culture and is currently attracting attention. Padding appeared as an existing winter clothing and had functional role, but now it is attracting attention as an aesthetic item and can be easily found in collections using it. However, there is still a fixed aspect in which various designs are limited due to functional and difficult patterns and difficult manufacturing processes. In addition, based on the fact that padding is mainly focused on functional studies, design research is considered necessary in terms of combining padding with hip-hop, a trend in popular culture. The purpose and significance of this study is to expand and propose the expressiveness of hip-hop fashion styles and padding by combining hip-hop style characteristics with padding. The contents and methods of this study are as follows. First, the concept and background of hip-hop fashion, elements of hip-hop, characteristics of hip-hop fashion, and style of hip-hop fashion were analyzed through literature reviews of hip-hop fashion-related books, thesis papers, and academic research journals. In addition, the case of modern hip-hop fashion design demonstration was analyzed, focusing on Internet search and fashion collection data. Second, the concept and type of padding, and the characteristics of padding were analyzed through literature studies of padding-related professional books, Thesis papers, and academic research journals. In addition, we analyzed the demonstration cases of modern padded fashion design, focusing on fashion collection data. Third, based on the above theoretical consideration and analysis, four padded fashion design works applying hip-hop fashion styles were designed and produced. The contents obtained from the theoretical consideration of this study are summarized as follows. First, through the characteristics of hip-hop fashion by period, hip-hop elements and styles could be classified into musical elements-multi-ethnic styles, dance elements-spotive styles, art elements-graphy styles, subculture elements-gangster styles, and pop culture elements-street styles. Second, through consideration of padding techniques, the types of padding materials were classified, and the characteristics of padding were classified into functional, aesthetic, and cultural aspects to recognize the importance of selecting the characteristics and scope of materials that can be used in research techniques. Third, through the trend of modern hip-hop fashion style and the case of modern padded fashion design, I was able to able to recognize the importance of design research that combines the style of hip-hop fashion and the characteristics of padding. The conclusions obtained through the production of this study are summarized as follows. First, in the process of producing schematic paintings focusing on the characteristics of hip-hop fashion styles, I was able to recognize the value and diversity of hip-hop as a source of fashion ideas and creations. Second, by incorporating padding into hip-hop fashion styles, it was possible to expand the area of free expression in the design area beyond the functional aspect. Third, by placing graffiti in various ways, it was possible to express vividness and artistic design, and by placing graffiti on the front of the lining, it was possible to express the effect of reversal and contrast with the exterior. Fourth, in padding design, the overall silhouette of the O-line and the amount of filler material were increased to express the sense of the radial shape. In particular, the exterior quilting method in trimming the shoulder mountain was structurally more emphasized, and the exaggeration in terms of aesthetics was remarkably expressed, and the multiple layers of padding were effective in expressing the silhouette of hip-hop fashion style. Fifth, when padding was applied to the design, various changes and combinations of silhouettes appeared depending on the thickness and amount of padding filler material and visual diversity was expressed by using the padding stitch in various ways. Various visual expressions were possible with the expression of the silhouette and the expression of the stitch. Sixth, the material was constructed using black color in the hip-hop hiphop fashion gangster style, and the selective use of black-colored gloss, matte, and graffiti showed an intense and urban design effect through color contrast with white colors. The limitation of the study was the lack of design of the storage space "pocket" in the production of the prototype design of the padding, and it seemed necessary to reinforce when producing the prototype. As a proposal for a follow-up study, it seemed necessary to study the expressive characteristics according to the downweight and thickness of the volume of the padding through the work production process. This study was able to combine the two to carry out design planning by deriving the characteristics of hip-hop fashion style and the detailed characteristics of padding techniques. It is hoped that this study, which recognizes the relationship between hip-hop fashion styles and the characteristics of padding, can serve as a clue to more diverse interdisciplinary research.
