Dmitri Shostakovich 의 Cello Sonata Op. 40에 관한 분석 연구

Abstract

This paper is an analysis on “Cello Sonata Op. 40” composed by Dmitri Shostakovich. Dmitri Dmitriyevich Shostakovich (1906-1975) is a Russian composer and pianist who represents 20th-century music history. While he was active in his career, he continued his composition activities vigorously and composed works of various, wide genres such as symphonies, operas, chamber music, film music, chorus, and ballet despite the turbulent social and political situation in Russia due to the rise of the Stalinist government. Among them, “Sonata for Cello and Piano in d minor Op. 40” composed in 1934 was the only cello sonata Shostakovich had written, following the success of his work <Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk>. The cello sonata was premiered by his friend Cellist Viktor Kubatscky (1891-1970). Consisting of 4 movements and having a classical sonata form, it has modern music elements arranged appropriately and expressed harmoniously together such as chromatic progression, use of continuant notes, and various cello playing techniques. Based on Shostakovich's life and works, this paper intends to be helpful in interpreting the performance of this cello sonata by analyzing and studying its movement form, structure, theme, tone, and rhythm.;본 논문은 드미트리 쇼스타코비치가 작곡한 첼로 소나타 <Cello Sonata Op. 40>의 연구 분석이다. 드미트리 쇼스타코비치(Dmitri Dmitryevich Shostakovich, 1906~1975)는 러시아 출신 작곡가이자 피아니스트로 20세기 음악사의 대표적인 음악가이다. 쇼스타코비치가 활동하던 당시 스탈린 정부의 집권으로 인해 혼란스러운 러시아 내부의 사회적, 정치적 상황들 속에서도 왕성한 작곡 활동을 이어 나가며 교향곡부터 오페라, 실내악, 영화 음악, 합창, 발레 음악 등 다양하고 폭넓은 장르의 작품들을 남겼다. 쇼스타코비치의 작품 중 첼로를 위한 소나타는 쇼스타코비치가 유일하게 남긴 작품으로 1933년에 완성한 그의 오페라 작품 <므첸스크의 맥베스 부인>의 흥행에 이어 1934년도에 작곡되었다. 쇼스타코비치의 친구이자 첼리스트인 빅토르 쿠바츠키(Viktor Kubatscky, 1891-1970)가 초연했다. 모두 4악장으로 구성되었으며 고전적인 소나타 형식을 갖추면서도 반음계적 진행, 지속음의 사용, 다양한 첼로 연주법 사용 등 현대적 음악 요소들이 함께 적절히 배치되어 조화롭게 표현된 작품이다. 쇼스타코비치의 생애와 작품을 바탕으로 첼로 소나타의 악장의 형식과 구조, 주제, 조성, 리듬 등을 기초하여 분석 연구함으로 이 작품의 연주 해석에 도움이 되고자 한다.
