선으로 표현한 모란문양을 응용한 자수조형 연구

Abstract

“자연은 자기의 형태를 그 목적에 따라 만들어내는 반면, 예술은 자기의 형태를 자기 자신에 따라 창조한다,”라고 말한 칸딘스키의 표현처럼 자연 안 에서 이뤄지는 인간의 삶은 다양한 부분에서 자연의 영향을 받게 되며 예술 표현의 소재로 많이 선택되어 왔다. 예술가는 경험을 바탕으로 하여 자연의 양상을 각기 달리 표현해왔으며 그중 아름다움을 느끼게 하는 식물인 꽃의 형 태는 작품에 중요한 영감을 주는 소재가 되었다. 꽃을 구성하는 유기적인 선 은 부드럽고 유동적인 생명력을 보이며 형태를 구성하고 있는 유려한 선을 통 해 아름다움과 리듬감을 느끼게 한다. 이러한 외형적인 조형성과 꽃의 신비로 운 생명의 변화를 통해 받은 영감은 아름다움으로 이어지며 많은 예술가들에 의해 작품을 구성하는 대상으로 창조되었다. 전통의 일상생활 속에서도 모란을 소재로 한 작품들을 다양하게 찾아볼 수 있다. 오랜 세월의 흐름 속에서도 전통적 소재들은 그 예술적 가치로 인해 많 은 관심을 갖게 되었으며 현대사회를 살아가면서 전통미에 대한 사유는 본 연구의 중요한 동기가 되었다. 그 시점의 근원에는 고전이 자리 잡고 있음을 발 견하였고, 연구의 대상으로 주목하게 되었다. 이를 위해 국립고궁박물관, 서울공예박물관의 소장품들 중 우리나라 전통자수의 섬세한 아름다움과 명료한 자연의 색을 구현한 것들을 관찰, 분석하였으며 한국적 소재와 심미성에 관심 을 갖고 연구해 보고자 한다. 연구의 출발점은 전통자수 문양 안에 담긴 상징적 의미와 부귀영화의 복을 기원하는 선조들의 고유 정신을 살펴보고 그 안에 내재된 상징의미를 담아 작품을 전개하고자 한다. 선과 선이 이어지는 표현에 는 사람과 사물, 사람과 자연, 사람과 사람의 연결 과정에 복을 기원하는 정 신을 담았다. 이를 통해 현대에도 이러한 의미를 내포시켜 사람들에게 긍정적 효과를 불러 일으키는 작업을 하고자 한다. 따라서, 전통의 그림과 생활용품 에 이르기까지 폭넓게 사용된 모란 문양의 상징적 의미와 조형적인 형태를 연 구하고, 그 전개 과정에서 선적 표현 위주로 모란을 모티브로 하여 자수로 표 현하고자 한다. 표현 방법에 대한 연구에서는 꽃의 섬세함을 투영하는 소재를 사용해 부드러운 촉감과 투명성을 부각하고, 선의 중첩과 반복을 통해 공간성 과 심미성을 고조 시키고자 한다. 또한 현대자수로서 표현해 나가는 방법에서 선과 선의 중첩(重疊)에 의한 연결이 하나의 형태가 되도록 이음수, 사슬수 기법을 사용하고자 한다. 이 과정에서 수가 지닌 미적 가치는 정성과 시간을 들여 집중할 때 그 가능성이 배 가 됨을 인지하게 되었다. 작업 과정에서 길게 호흡하고 소통하며 선과 선을 실로 그려가며 과거 현재 미래의 시간을 담아내는 연구과정 안에서 인내와 집중, 정서적 평정을 통해 내면을 관조하는 시간을 작품에 담아 표현하고자 한다. 이러한 과정을 통해 자수 작품 제작 및 탄생은 단순히 작업 결과물의 성취 로서만 끝나는 것이 아니라 연구자 내면의 정서적 고양에도 연구의 의의가 있 음을 발견하였다. 이러한 관점과 더불어 색채 역시 전통자수에서 사용되었던 고유한 색을 연구한 후 나아가 연구자의 주관적 시점에서 정서적 안정감을 주 는 색감을 선택해 색채의 상징의미를 재해석하였다. 실을 소재로 하여 유려하 고 섬세한 선을 표현해 실과 선의 조형미를 현대 섬유예술로 구성 하는데 초 점을 맞췄다. 완성된 작품의 결과를 통해 선의 평면성으로부터 선과 선의 중 첩이 이루는 풍부한 공간감의 증폭 효과를 도출 하고자 한다. “선 이란, 눈에 보이지 않는 본질(Wesen)이다”는 칸딘스키의 표현처럼 본 연구 작품에서는 고도의 본질적인 미학적 가치를 선적 조형언어로 표현하는데 주안점을 두고자한다.;As Kandinsky said, "Nature creates its own form according to its purpose, while art creates its own form according to itself," human life in nature is influenced by nature in various ways and has been chosen as the subject of art expression. Artists have expressed different aspects of nature based on their experiences, and among them, the form of flowers, a plant that makes them feel beautiful, has become an important inspiration for their work. The organic lines that make up the flowers show soft and fluid vitality and give you a sense of beauty and rhythm through the flexible lines that make up the shape. The inspiration received through this external formability and the mysterious change in life of flowers leads to beauty and is created by many artists as an object to compose the work. Various works based on peony can be found in the daily life of tradition. Even with the passage of time, traditional materials became very interested in their artistic value, and while living in modern society, the idea of traditional beauty became an important motivation for this study. It was found that classics were located at the root of that point, and attention was paid to the subject of research. To this end, we observed and analyzed the delicate beauty and clear natural colors of Korean traditional embroidery among the collections of the National Palace Museum and the Seoul Craft Museum, and we would like to study with interest in Korean materials and aesthetics. The starting point of the study is to examine the symbolic meaning contained in the traditional embroidery pattern and the inherent spirit of the ancestors wishing for the blessings of wealth and glory, and to develop the work with the symbolic meaning inherent in it. The expression that connects good and good contains the spirit of praying for blessings in people and things, people and nature, and the process of connecting people and people. Through this, we intend to create a positive effect on people by implicating this meaning even in modern times. Therefore, we will study the symbolic meaning and formative form of peony patterns that have been widely used from traditional paintings to household goods, and in the process of development, we will express peony with the motif of shipping expression. In the study of expression methods, soft touch and transparency are highlighted using materials that project the delicacy of flowers, and spatiality and aesthetics are enhanced by overlapping and repeating lines. In addition, in the way of expressing it as a modern embroidery, the overlapping of lines and lines overlapping or overlapping repeatedly. Through this process, it was found that the production and birth of embroidered works not only ended as an achievement of the results of the work, but also had the significance of research in the emotional uplift of the researcher's inner self. In addition to this point of view, after studying the unique color used in traditional embroidery, the meaning of the symbol of color was reinterpreted by selecting the color that gives emotional stability from the subjective point of view of the researcher. The focus was on composing the formative beauty of the yarn and lines into modern textile art by expressing the delicate and delicate lines using yarn as a material. Through the results of the completed work, we intend to derive the amplification effect of the rich sense of space formed by the overlap of lines and lines from the flatness of lines. Like Kandinsky's expression that "good is the invisible essence (Wesen)," the focus of this study is on expressing the highly essential aesthetic value in the shipping formative language.
