클로드 모네의 수련 연작 이미지를 응용한 패션디자인 연구

Abstract

자연은 인간에게 있어서 떼어 낼 수 없는 환경이다. 점차 우리가 살고 있는 환경이 도심에서도 사회, 문화, 과학적으로 발전되어 가면서 자연스럽게 대면했던 자연이 이제는 찾아가야 볼 수 있는 곳으로 바뀌어 가고 있다. 오늘날 고도의 발전 뿐만 아니라, 질병의 확산으로 인해 우리의 실생활에서의 자연은 더 멀어진 거리감을 느끼게 한다. 이에 2020년 건축 트렌드에서는 ‘바이오필리아’의 개념에 입각한 ‘바이오필릭 디자인’을 제시하였고 이는 현대인의 삶에 자연적 요소를 인위적으로나마 제공하고자 하는 움직임이 되었다. 본 연구의 주 대상인 수련 연작을 그린 클로드 모네 또한 당시 프랑스 파리의 변화로 인해 주변 외곽의 자연을 찾아 떠나며 그 속에서 안정감을 얻으며 수련 연작에 몰두하는 모습을 보였다. 이에 본 연구는 두 사건의 흐름을 연구의 배경으로 삼아 바이오필릭 디자인의 요소를 수련 연작 이미지 분석과 타피스트리 기법을 중심으로 패션디자인에 적용하여 현대인의 자연적 안정감을 제공하는 데에 의미 있는 작품 제작을 하고자 계획하였다. 먼저, 연구 대상인 수련 연작 이미지를 작품 연대 순으로 색채, 붓터치, 시점의 특징이 드러나는 작품으로 선정하여 분석하였다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 작품 제작에 모티브로 삼을 수련 연작 4점을 선정하고 타피스트리 기법 중 표현적 특징을 적절히 드러낼 수 있는 기법을 선정해 작품 제작을 하였다. 이론적 고찰과 함께 작품 제작 과정을 거친 결과, 수련 연작 이미지의 표현적 특징과 이를 패션디자인으로 구현함에 타피스트리 기법이 적합한 기법임을 확인하였다. 또한, 특징과 기법의 유의미한 관계를 통해 회화의 평면적 형태를 패션디자인의 입체적 형태로 구현함으로써 회화 이미지에 부조적 효과를 부여할 수 있었다. 이를 통해 단지 시각적 경험만이 가능했던 회화를 타피스트리 조직과 양모의 질감을 통해 새롭게 재해석한 촉각적 경험으로 체험의 범위를 넓힐 수 있게 되었다. 바이오필릭 디자인의 요소 중 하나로 자연환경에서 보이는 색채 조화와 천연 자연 소재인 양모를 통해 패션디자인을 제작함으로써 현대인에게 바이오필리아의 경험을 모네의 수련 연작을 기반으로 한 패션디자인으로 제공할 수 있다는 가능성을 제시하였다. 결론적으로 본 연구의 이론적 고찰과 수련 연작 이미지 분석, 타피스트리 기법을 통한 작품 제작을 과정을 통해 각각의 서로 다른 주제가 하나의 공통된 배경을 바탕으로 접점을 발견하고 이를 기점으로 서로 융합하여 새로운 재해석이 가능하다는 것을 보았다. 본 연구의 과정을 기반으로 하여 향후 연구에서도 오늘날 현 시대의 흐름에 두 가지의 대상의 융합으로 새로운 재해석을 제시할 수 있는 가능성을 열게 되었다. ;Nature is an inseparable environment for humans. Accordingly, in the 2020 architectural trend, 'biophilic design' based on the concept of 'biophilia' was presented, which became a movement to artificially provide natural elements to modern people's lives. Claude Monet, who drew the water lily series, which is the main subject of this study, also showed himself immersed in the water lily series, gaining a sense of stability while leaving to find nature around the outskirts due to changes in Paris, France at the time. Therefore, this study uses the flow of the two events as the background of the study to apply the elements of biophilic design to fashion design centering on the training series image analysis and tapestry technique to create meaningful works to provide modern people with a sense of natural stability. planned. First, the images of the water lilies series, which are the subject of study, were selected and analyzed as works that reveal the characteristics of color, brush touch, and point of view in the order of work chronology. Based on this result, 4 water lily series were selected to be used as motifs for the production of the work, and among the tapestry techniques, a technique that could properly reveal the expressive characteristics was selected and the work was produced. As a result of the production process along with theoretical consideration, it was confirmed that the tapestry technique is a suitable technique for implementing the expressive characteristics of the water lily series images and fashion design. In addition, through a significant relationship between characteristics and techniques, it was possible to give a relief effect to the painting image by realizing the flat form of painting as a three-dimensional form of fashion design. Through this, it was possible to broaden the range of experience through a new reinterpretation of painting through the texture of tapestry and wool, which was only possible for visual experience, as a tactile experience. One of the elements of biophilic design is the possibility of providing modern people with the experience of biophilia as a fashion design based on Monet's water lily series by producing fashion design through color harmony seen in the natural environment and wool, a natural material. presented. In conclusion, through the process of theoretical consideration of this study, analysis of training series images, and production of works through tapestry techniques, each different theme discovers a point based on a common background, and a new reinterpretation is possible by converging with each other using this as a starting point.
