J. Brahms Viola Sonata No.2 in E♭Major, Op.120 에 관한 분석 및 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 요하네스 브람스 (Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897) 의 Viola Sonata No.2 in E♭Major, Op.120 작품에 관한 연구이다. 브람스의 삶과 음악적 배경, 작품들의 특징 등을 고찰하며 그의 작곡기법에 대한 연구를 통해 그의 곡들을 한층 더 깊이 있게 이해하고 파악하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 요하네스 브람스 (Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897) 는 19세기 낭만주의 작곡가이다. 고전적 전통 안에서 낭만적이면서도 고전적 독일 전통의 특징을 잘 나타내는 신고전주의 신고전주의 : Neoclassicism Music으로 빈 고전파 이후에 나타난 음악으로서 명확한 조성감과 함께 뚜렷한 형식감을 갖춘 일반적으로 호모포닉한 양식을 부르는 명칭이다. 작곡가이며, 그는 깊이 있는 내면적 음악을 추구하는 작곡가로서 자신의 색깔이 돋보이는 개성적인 음악을 작곡하였다. 브람스는 고전시대의 원리를 밑바탕으로 한 절대음악을 고수하였으며 실내악곡, 교향곡, 독주곡 등 많은 분야의 다양한 작품을 남겼다. 필자가 연구, 분석할 J. Brahms Viola Sonata No.2 in E♭Major, Op.120 은 브람스가 가장 마지막으로 작곡한 실내악 곡으로 처음에는 클라리넷과 피아노를 위한 곡으로 작곡되었으나 이후 비올라와 피아노를 위한 곡으로 편곡되었다. 본 연구를 통해 브람스의 주요 작품들을 알아보며 그의 생애, 음악관 그리고 그의 작품의 시대적 배경을 연구한 후 그의 비올라 소나타 작품 2번을 악장별로 비교, 분석해보는 것을 목적으로 한다. ;This study is a research and analysis of Johannes Brahms' Viola sonata No.2, in E♭ Major, Op.120. J. Brahms was a romantic composer who was active in the late 19th century. He created his own style following the spirit of classicism. His last chamber music piece, Viola Sonata No.2 in E♭Major, Op.120, was originally a sonata for clarinet. He arranged it for viola himself. This piece is composed of three movements, and the first movement is a typical sonata-style piece, consisting of an exposition, development, and recapitulation. The second movement is a compound three-part work of A-B-A. The third movement is a slow movement, but it is accompanied by a change in tempo along with a tonal change in the last variation, and also serves as a finale. In this Sonata, J.Brahms expresses the lyrical timbre and melody unique to the viola, highlighting various forms of harmonic progression through chromatic progression and dispersive chords, and expresses free change of rhythm by using techniques such as syncopation and hemiola. J.Brahm’s music and works were studied closely based on Viola Sonata No.2 in E♭Major, Op.120 background and music for each movement. It is hoped that this study will provide a more in-depth understanding of his music and will be of practical help in the interpretation and performance of his works.
