부모의 방임과 학대가 학교 밖 청소년의 온·오프라인 비행에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 스트레스를 일으키는 긴장사건이 부정적 정서를 매개하여 비행으로 이어진다는 긴장이론(General Strain Theory: GST)에 따라, 학교 밖 청소년의 방임과 학대경험이 우울을 매개로 온·오프라인 비행에 미치는 영향을 파악하는 것이다. 연구에는 한국청소년정책연구원의‘학업중단 청소년 패널조사’2차년도(2014년)자료를 활용하였으며, 최종분석에는 586명의 자료가 사용되었다. 분석방법은 SPSS 28.0 프로그램을 활용하여 다중회귀 분석을 실시하였고, 매개효과 검증을 위해 Baron and Kenny(1986)의 단계적 분석방법을 실시하였다. 이후 매개효과 재검증을 위해 Process macro를 진행하였다. 분석을 통해 얻은 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 방임은 학교 밖 청소년의 온라인비행에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않았고, 이에 따라 우울은 매개효과를 갖지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 학대는 학교 밖 청소년의 온라인비행에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않았고, 이에 따라 우울은 매개효과를 갖지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 방임은 학교 밖 청소년의 오프라인비행에 정적(+) 영향을 미쳤으며, 우울이 부분매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 방임경험이 높을수록 오프라인비행이 증가하며 이를 우울이 매개하였다. 넷째, 학대는 학교 밖 청소년의 오프라인비행에 정적(+) 영향을 미쳤으며, 우울이 부분매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 학대경험이 높을수록 오프라인비행이 증가하며 이를 우울이 매개하였다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 주로 재학 청소년을 대상으로 비행연구가 이루어져왔다는 점에 주목하여 학교 밖 청소년을 대상으로 비행문제를 살펴보았고, 학교 밖 청소년을 대상으로 활발한 연구가 이루어져야 함을 제시하였으며, 방임과 학대가 온라인비행으로 이어질 수 있다는 기존의 다수 선행연구 결과와는 다르게 방임과 학대는 온라인비행에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다는 점에서 의의를 가진다. 실천적 함의로는, 추적이 어려운 학교 밖 청소년의 방임과 학대, 우울, 비행에 적극 개입하여야 하며, 특히 부모교육 혹은 관계 회복프로그램, 학교 밖 청소년 대상으로 학대 신고의무제를 활성화하는 방안 등 방임과 학대의 개입과 예방에 대한 필요성을 제시하였다. 정책적 함의로는 학교 밖 청소년의 정신건강에 개입할 수 있는 상담센터가 재학 청소년과 학교 밖 청소년을 포괄하여 서비스를 제공하고 있는 상황에서 인력과 예산이 부족하다는 문제점이 있으므로 이에 대한 개선이 필요함을 제시하였다. ;The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of neglect and abuse experiences of out-of-school adolscents on online and offline delinquency through depression, according to the General Strain Theory (GST), which states that stressful strains increase negative emotions and lead to delinquency. This study was conducted based on the 2014 “Dropout Youth Panel Survey” conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute (NYPI), and the data of 586 adolscents were used for the final analysis. This study performed a multiple regression analysis through SPSS 28.0 and used the Baron and Kenny (1986) method to verify the mediation effect. The effect then was reverified through the SPSS Process Macro. The results from the analysis are as follows. First, neglect does not directly affect the online delinquency of out-of-school adolscents, which means depression has no mediation effect. Second, abuse does not directly affect the online delinquency of out-of-school adolscents, which also means depression has no mediation effect. Third, neglect has a positive (+) effect on the offline delinquency of out-of-school adolscents, and depression has a partial mediation effect. In other words, the more adolscents experienced neglect, the more they committed misdeeds, and depression mediated this. Fourth, abuse has a positive (+) effect on the offline delinquency of out-of-school adolscents, and depression has a partial mediation effect. In other words, the more adolscents experienced abuse, the more they committed misdeeds, and depression mediated this. This study is meaningful in that it looks into the delinquency of out-of-school adolscents, noting that the existing studies have mainly focused on in-school adolscents, suggests that more studies for out-of-school adolscents are necessary, and shows that unlike the results of various precedent studies, abuse does not have a significant effect on online delinquency. From a practical perspective, it proposes active intervention in the neglect, abuse, depression, and delinquency of out-of-school adolscents that are hard to track, and especially the necessity for intervention and prevention, such as parental education, relationship recovery programs, and measures to enforce a mandatory abuse reporting system for out-of-school adolscents. From a policy perspective, this study suggests improving the insufficient personnel and budget of counseling centers that can intervene out-of-school adolscent’s mental health in the situation where they provide service to both out-of-school and in-school adolscents.
