외국인 및 이민자 유입이 내국인 기혼여성 고용에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구는 외국인 및 이민자 유입이 내국인 기혼여성의 고용에 미치는 영향에 관하여 분석했다. 분석 기간은 2010년에서 2015년으로 국내 229개 시군구를 기준으로 지역 간 변이를 사용하였다. 실증 분석을 위한 자료로는 통계청의 「인구총조사」와 행정안전부의 「외국인주민현황」을 사용했다. 외국인의 출신 국적을 이용한 변이할당 도구변수를 활용하여 외국인 유입과 내국인 기혼여성 고용 사이에 존재할 내생성 문제를 제거하고자 했다. 분석 결과, 지역 내 외국인 유입은 내국인 기혼여성 고용에 유의한 영향을 주지 않았다. 다만 내국인 기혼여성의 특징에 따른 세부 집단 분석을 진행한 결과, 6세 이하 자녀를 양육하거나 배우자가 무직 상태인 기혼여성의 고용은 외국인 유입에 따라 감소하였다. 반면 출산 경험이 없는 기혼여성의 고용은 증가했다. ;This study analyzed the effect of the inflow of foreigners and immigrants on the employment of married women in South Korea. The analysis period was from 2010 to 2015, and inter-city variations were used based on 229 counties in South Korea. As data for empirical analysis, the National Statistical Office's 「Census」 and the Ministry of Public Administration and Security's 「Statistics on Foreign Residents by Local Governments」 were used. It was intended to eliminate the endogenous problem that may exist between the inflow of foreigners and the employment of married women by using the shift-share instrumental variable using foreigners’ nationality. As a result of the analysis, the inflow of foreigners did not significantly affect the employment of married women. However, as a result of conducting sub-sample analyses according to the characteristics of married women in South Korea, the employment of married women who raised children under the age of 6 or whose spouses were unemployed decreased due to the influx of foreigners. On the other hand, it was confirmed that the employment of married women with no childbirth experience increased.
