20대-30대 개신교 청년의 죄책감 및 수치심 현상 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 20-30대 청년들이 신앙생활 할 때, 경험하는 ‘죄-회개’ 사이클의 결과로 죄책감과 수치심을 겪으며 그로 인해 교회 공동체와 하나님을 떠나는 현상의 패턴, 역동 구조를 연구하는데 목적이 있다. 한국 개신교 교회의 특정 신앙관은 청년들과 하나님의 친밀한 관계에서 병리적인 현상을 낳게 한다. 그러므로 이러한 병리적 현상 속에서 역기능적으로 작동하고 있는 신학적인 요소들을 발견하고 신학적인 목소리를 찾아 목회상담의 실천적 과제로 재구성한다. 이 연구는 질적연구로서 실천신학적 방법론을 통해 연구를 기술하였다. 먼저, 연구 참여자들의 인터뷰를 코딩하여 문제를 발견하였으며 도출된 코딩 결과로 하나님과 청년들의 친밀한 관계 속의 병리적 현상을 친밀한 관계에서의 폭력(Intimate Partner Violence, IPV)과 신앙 능력주의로 학제적 분석을 거쳐 해석하였다. 실천신학적인 작업으로서 이 연구는 질적연구에서 끝나지 않고 연구 결과를 신학적인 성찰의 밑거름으로 삼는다. 신학적 목소리는 기존 개신교 교회에서 주창하는 속죄론과 대속론을 비판하며 월터 윙크의 구원론을 통해 죄의 문제가 개인의 죄가 아닌 사회지배체제의 죄로 해석하여 죄책감과 수치심을 재해석 할 수 있도록 논의를 전개한다. 마지막으로 신앙생활을 하며 죄책감과 수치심으로 고통받는 청년들을 목회 상담 현장에서 만날 때, 문제의 역기능에 집중하지 않고 제안한 문제를 리프레이밍하여 순기능과 역기능을 내담자가 볼 수 있도록 목회상담가는 어떤 그릇을 준비해야하는지에 대해 알아본다.;This thesis explores the problematic dynamics of the cycle of repentance created in the lives of young adults that often pushes them out of the church community. This cycle is studied by analyzing the results of the in-depth interviews with conservative Protestant young adults in their 20s and 30s that revealed a projection of a theological construction of God-believer relationship as intimate relationship that resembles romantic one. This relationship is constructed with uneven power dynamics that is conducive to generate abusive pattern. This pattern is analyzed first through the psychology of intimate partner relationship, then through the theologies of Adam Kotsko and Walter Wink to ultimately suggest a more balanced relational construction of the relationship between God and the believers. The overarching structure of this thesis follows Richard Osmer's description of practical theology moving from descriptive to interpretive, then to normative and pragmatic tasks. The qualitative research done through in-depth interviews explores the lived experience of the repentance cycle is brought into interdisciplinary conversation to generate a theological reflection, which criticizes the atonement theology advocated by the many Korean Protestant churches. Through Walter Wink's soteriology, the issue of sin is interpreted as a structural problem rather than a solely individual one, which frees the individual from certain guilt and shame. This work's pragmatic suggestion is to develop the pastoral counselor's competence in containing the theological dynamics created in the young adults. As the process of discerning the patterns of faith journeys that includes the cycle of repentance requires nonjudgmental stance of the caregiver, the pastoral counselor needs to have both the psychological and theological capacity to endure the care-seekers to attempt to test out the relational dynamics with their own God image.
