KBS교향악단 50년간(1956~2006)의 연주기록을 통한 한국 창작음악의 역사 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 해방 이후 오랜 기간 대한민국을 대표해 온 교향악단의 창작음악 연주목록을 선별 수집하여 현대 음악 연구의 기반이 될 1차 자료를 데이터 베이스화 하는 작업으로부터 시작되었다. 특히, 한국 교향악단의 시금석이자 대표인 KBS교향악단의 창작음악 연주 레퍼토리 데이터를 중점적으로 분석하였다. 본 논문의 목적은 ‘KBS교향악단의 50년간(1956~2006)의 창작음악 연주기록’을 토대로 하여, 교향악단의 창작음악의 역사를 사회 · 문화 · 정치적 맥락과 함께 살펴보는 것이다. KBS교향악단은 우리나라 근대시기 교향악 운동의 계보를 잇는 교향악단이자, 일정시기 정부와 긴밀한 관계를 가지고 영향을 주고 받으며 국립교향악단으로 활동하였다. 때문에 음악관련 국가 정책이 교향악단 운영과 레퍼토리 선정 및 변화에 다른 교향악단보다 KBS교향악단에 더욱 심층적으로 작용하였고 영향을 미쳤음을 본 연구를 통해 파악할 수 있었다. 한국가곡으로 시작된 KBS교향악단 창작음악 연주의 역사는 교향악단이 속했던 사회적 배경과 상호작용해 오면서, 특히 교향악단 소속과 그에 따른 주요 인물, 정권교체와 같은 정치적 이슈, 경제 성장과 기술의 발전에 따른 새로운 매체의 등장 등과 같은 요인에 의해 변화해 왔음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구의 의의는 그동안 미진했던 현대시기 창작음악의 역사 연구에 1차적인 자료를 제공하고, 기존의 작품과 작곡가 중심의 창작음악 연구 방식에서 벗어나 창작음악의 역사를 통시적 관점에서 조망해 보았다는 데에 있다.;This study was conducted for the purpose of creating a primary database for the Korean contemporary music research by the task of collecting and selecting the repertoires of the Korean contemporary music performed since the post-liberation period. Especially the repertoires of contemporary music performed by the KBS Symphony Orchestra, a representative symphony orchestra in Korea, were mainly analyzed. The purpose of this study is to examine the history of the Korean contemporary music in the context of society, culture, and politics based on the ‘50-year (1956-2006) repertoire records of the KBS Symphony Orchestra's Korean contemporary music’. The KBS Symphony Orchestra is a symphony orchestra that connects the genealogy of the ‘Korean symphonic music movements’ and has also played an active role as a national symphony orchestra. Therefore, it is possible to understand that national music-related policies have had a more impact on the operation and repertoire selection of the KBS Symphony Orchestra than other symphony orchestras. The history of the KBS Symphony Orchestra's Korean contemporary music repertoire, which was begun with the Korean traditional songs, has changed along with the various factors of the social background in which the symphony orchestra belonged. The history of the repertoire has particularly interacted with the main figures associated with the symphony orchestra, the political issues such as regime changes, the emergence of new media due to economic growth and technological development, and so on. This study provides the primary source for the previously unexplored research on the Korean contemporary music and aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the history of Korean contemporary music repertoire performed by the KBS Symphony Orchestra.
