Sergei Rachmaninoff의 Cello Sonata in g minor, Op. 19에 관한 분석 및 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 19세기 말부터 20세기 초를 대표하는 러시아의 후기 낭만주의 작곡가 세르게이 라흐마니노프의 첼로 소나타 (Sonata for Cello and Piano in g minor, Op.19)에 대한 연구이다. 그는 수많은 피아노 작품과 실내악, 오페라, 성악곡, 기악곡 등 다양한 장르의 작품을 남겼으며, 그 중 라흐마니노프의 첼로 소나타는 그가 작곡한 유일한 첼로 소나타이다. 그가 당대 최고의 피아니스트였던만큼 첼로 소나타임에도 피아노 파트에서 복잡하고 화려한 기교가 돋보이는 부분이 자주 등장하고, 피아노가 독주 악기인 첼로와 동등한 역할로써 곡을 이끌어 간다. 이 작품은 고전 시대의 전통적인 소나타 양식에서 벗어나 낭만 시대의 자유로운 구조를 가진 소나타 양식을 보여준다. 총 4개의 악장으로 이루어진 이 작품은 느린 도입부로 시작하고, 제시부, 발전부, 재현부, 코다로 구성되어 있는 소나타 형식이지만 재현부에서 제1주제가 재현되지 않는 특징을 가진 변형된 소나타 형식, 2악장은 스케르초 풍의 복합 3부분 형식, 3악장은 느리고 서정적인 선율의 3부분 형식, 마지막 4악장은 1악장과 같은 소나타 형식으로 구성되어 있다. 이 작품은 그의 실내악 작품 중 완성도가 높은 작품으로 평가되고 있으며, 라흐마니노프가 구축했던 자신만의 음악 세계가 잘 나타나 있는 작품이다.;This paper is a study of the Rachmaninoff’s “Cello Sonata in g minor, Op. 19” who is the late Russian Romantic composer representing the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He has left numerous piano pieces and works of various genres, including chamber music, opera, vocal music and instrumental works. And Rachmaninoff’s cello sonata is the only cello sonata he has ever composed. As he was the best pianist of his time, the complicated and colorful skills of the piano part appear, and he leads the song as an equivalent role to the solo instrument cello. His cello sonata shows a sonata style with a free structure of the Romantic period, away from the traditional sonata style of the Classical period. This piece has four movements. The first movement is a sonata forms begins with a slow introduction and consists of a exposition, development, recapitulation and coda. But the first theme is not reproduced in the recapitulation so it is altered sonata forms. The second movement is scherzo and it is composite tenery form. The third movement has slow and lyrical melody and it is also tenery form. The last forth movement is a sonata form like the first movement. This work is considered to be highly complete among his chamber music works, and it shows his own musical world that Rachmaninoff built.
