랜드스케이프 어바니즘 개념을 적용한 도시 오픈스페이스 디자인 연구

Abstract

Existing binary classification and modern paradigm are no longer applicable to the organic and continuous structure that forms a contemporary city. An urban open space with expanded multi-functionalities is in need, as most current open spaces in Korea are uniformly structured, lacking accessibility, and failing to realize placeness. Landscape Urbanism can be applied to Korea’s open space to examine its function and form, its connectivity with the environment, and the overall flow with the city. This study aims to resolve many of the existing issues with open spaces in Korea, through the perspective of Landscape Urbanism that pursues convergence of landscape, architecture, and city. The researcher had proceeded the basic study through 「A Study of Expression Tendency of Urban Open Space Design from the Perspective of Landscape Urbanism」. This study is to develop the research further in depth and propose urban open space design applying Landscape Urbanism. Study consists of the following parts. Chapter 1 examines the current status of urban open space and background of Landscape Urbanism, and explains the scope and method of this research. Chapter 2 finds out the need for Landscape Urbanism to an urban open space, and explores the theoretical considerations through related literature and preceding research on the subject. Based on theoretical studies, the researcher derived major concepts of Landscape Urbanism to draw framework of analysis. Chapter 3 analyzes exemplary overseas case studies based on Landscape Urbanism concept and framework derived in the earlier chapter to draw the key design characteristics. Chapter 4 selects an open space and suggests a final design that utilizes the characteristics of Landscape Urbanism examined through case studies. This study on urban design from the perspective of a Landscape Urbanism can be summarized as follows. Korea’s urban open space requires a plan that rejects uniformity, accommodates flexible programs and reflects the characteristics of site. Urban open space that applies Landscape Urbanism can become a space with multi-personality that embraces interactions of various factors such as environment, society, economy, and culture, through reorganization of territories, construction of network, and realization of placeness. In this regard, given the potential for urban open space to actively engage with the city and establish a mutual relations, this study suggests a continuous research efforts on this topic.;현대 도시는 유기적이고 연속적인 네트워크 구조로 구성되어 있기에 기존 이분법적 구분과 근대 패러다임이 더 이상 유효하지 않다. 이러한 변화와 함께 다기능적 성격으로 확장된 도시 오픈스페이스가 필요하지만, 대부분의 우리나라 오픈스페이스는 접근성이 부족하고 획일적이며, 장소성 또한 구현하지 못하고 있다. 우리나라 도시 오픈스페이스는 랜드스케이프 어바니즘을 적용하여 기능과 형태, 주변 환경과의 연계성, 그리고 도시 전체의 흐름까지 고려되어야 할 필요성이 있다. 연구자는 기존의 문제들을 개선하고자 경관, 건축, 도시의 융합을 지향하는 랜드스케이프 어바니즘 관점에서 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구자는 학회 논문을 통해 랜드스케이프 어바니즘 관점에서의 해외 도시 오픈스페이스 표현 경향 연구라는 기초 연구를 진행하였다. 그리고 본 연구에서는 기초 연구를 토대로 발전시켜 랜드스케이프 어바니즘의 개념을 적용한 도시 오픈스페이스 디자인을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 연구를 수행하였다. 연구는 다음과 같이 진행하였다. 1장에서는 도시 오픈스페이스에 대한 현황과 랜드스케이프 어바니즘의 배경을 설명하고, 연구 방법 및 범위를 서술하였다. 2장에서는 도시 오픈스페이스와 랜드스케이프 어바니즘 관련 문헌 및 선행연구를 통해 이론적 고찰을 하고, 도시 오픈스페이스에서 랜드스케이프 어바니즘의 필요성을 파악하였다. 이후, 이론적 고찰을 바탕으로 랜드스케이프 어바니즘의 주요 개념을 도출하여 기준을 설정하였다. 3장에서는 랜드스케이프 어바니즘의 성향이 보이는 해외 선진 사례들을 앞 장에서 제시한 주요 개념에 따라 분석하여 표현 특성을 도출하였다. 4장에서는 대상지를 선정하여 사례 분석에서 도출한 랜드스케이프 어바니즘의 특성을 적용한 디자인 최종안을 제시하였다. 랜드스케이프 어바니즘 관점의 도시 오픈스페이스에 관한 본 연구는 다음과 같이 정리할 수 있다. 우리나라 도시 오픈스페이스는 디자인의 획일성을 지양하고 유연한 프로그램을 수용할 수 있는 열린 공간과 부지의 특성이 반영된 계획이 필요하다. 랜드스케이프 어바니즘이 적용된 도시 오픈스페이스는 영역의 재편성, 네트워크 구축, 장소성 구현으로 인해 환경, 사회, 경제, 문화 등 다양한 요소들의 상호작용을 수용하는 다기능적 성격을 가진 공간이 될 수 있다. 랜드스케이프 어바니즘이 적용된 도시 오픈스페이스는 적극적으로 도시와 관계를 맺어, 도시와의 활발한 상호관계를 설정할 수 있기에 지속적인 연구가 이루어져야 한다.
