사회적 자본이 사회적 갈등에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구는 사회적 자본이 사회적 갈등에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고 사회적 포용의 매개효과를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구를 위해 한국행정연구원에서 조사한「2020년 사회통합실태조사」자료를 분석에 활용하였다. 이 자료에서 만 19세 이상에 해당하는 8,336명을 표본으로 하였다. 분석을 위해 IBM SPSS Statiscics 20.0 프로그램을 활용하였으며, 사회적 자본이 사회적 갈등에 미치는 영향과 사회적 포용의 매개효과를 살펴보기 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. Sobel test를 통해 매개효과의 통계적 유의성을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회적 자본의 하위요소 신뢰와 네트워크가 사회적 갈등에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 타인에 대한 신뢰가 기반이 된 소통이 증가할수록 사회적 갈등이 줄어든다고 해석할 수 있다. 둘째, 사회적 자본의 하위요소 신뢰, 네트워크가 사회적 갈등에 미치는 영향에서 사회적 포용이 유의미한 부분 매개효과가 검증되었다. 이는 타인을 신뢰하고 소통하는 것은 사회적 약자에 대한 포용력을 높이며, 이러한 사회적 포용은 사회적 갈등을 완화하는데 영향을 주는 것을 의미한다. 마지막으로 참여는 사회적 갈등에 유의미하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 참여의 유형에 따라서 사회적 갈등에 미치는 영향력이 다르기 때문에 나타나는 결과이다. 연구결과를 바탕으로, 본 연구에서 제시한 논의는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 개인은 집단과의 소통을 통해 타인과의 상호작용이 이루어지고 이는 타인에 대한 이해를 증가시켜 신뢰가 높아진다. 따라서, 집단 간 소통의 장을 마련하여 신뢰와 네트워크를 높이는 것이 중요하다. 코로나19로 인해 타인과의 소통의 기회가 줄어들고 있기 때문에 집단 구성원들의 신뢰를 높이고 소통의 기회를 마련하기 위한 갈등관리 방법에 대한 시스템 구축이 필요하다. 둘째, 사회적 자본의 신뢰와 소통을 기반으로 사회적 약자에 대한 포용력을 높여 사회적 갈등을 완화할 수 있는 것도 중요하다. 국가적 차원에서 사회적 약자에 대한 복지혜택 강화와 취업 및 교육의 기회를 제공하는 것과 더불어 인식개선을 통한 사회 정책적 접근이 필요하다. 본 연구는 사회적 포용을 매개로 한 선행연구와의 차별성과 사회적 갈등을 줄일 수 있는 사회적 자본의 관계를 살펴보았다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 또한 신뢰, 참여와 사회적 갈등과의 관계에서 사회적 포용의 매개효과의 영향이 확인되었다. 이에 본 연구결과는 사회적 갈등을 해소하는데 있어 기초자료가 될 수 있다.;The purpose of this study is to examine the impacts of social capital on social conflicts and to verify the mediating effects of social inclusion. For doing this, this research utilized 「2020 Korea Social Integration Survey」conducted by the Korea Institute of Public Administration. A sample of 8,336 people aged 19 years old and above were surveyed. The research used IBM SPSS Statiscics 20.0 and conducted the multiple regression analysis to examine the impacts of social capital on social conflicts and the mediating effects of social inclusion. The research verified statistical significance of the mediating effects through the Sobel test. The primary research results were as follows. First, a trust and network, sub-elements of social capital had the significant impacts on social conflicts. This can be interpreted that the more trust-based communications increase, the more social conflicts decrease. Second, the significant mediating effects of social inclusion were verified when the impacts of the trust and network, sub-elements of social capital on social inflicts were examined. This means that what trusts in others and communicates with them increase inclusion on the socially disadvantaged, and this social inclusion has the impacts on reduction in social conflicts. Lastly, the participation hadn’t the significant impacts on social conflicts. It is because the impacts on social conflicts are different, depending on types of the participation. The suggested discussions were as follows. First, individuals interact with others through communications. This increases understanding about others and trusts in others were greatly built. Thus, it is important to offer opportunities for communicating with others and to build trusts and networks. Because opportunities for communicating with others were reduced by COVID-19, establishing the system on methods to manage conflicts is needed in order to build trusts in group members and offer opportunities for communications. Second, it is also important to reduce social conflicts as increasing inclusion on the socially disadvantaged based on trusts and communications of social capital. It is significant that this research examined differentiation between this research and previous researches on social inclusion and the relationships of social capital that could reduce social conflicts. Also, the impacts of the mediating effects of social inclusion in the relationships among trusts, participations, and social conflicts were identified. This research results can be the basic data in resolving social conflicts.
