R. Schumann의 연가곡 「Frauenliebe und Leben, Op.42」 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 Robert Schumann (1810 -1856)의 연가곡인 「Frauenliebe und Leben, Op.42」(여인의 사랑과 생애)에 관한 연구이다. 작곡가 슈만의 생애를 먼저 살펴본 후, 19세기의 가곡, 그리고 슈만 가곡의 특징을 알아본다. 슈만은 19세기 낭만파 작곡가 중 대표적 인물로 음악 분야와 문학 분야 모두에서 재능을 겸비한 음악 시인이었다. 그는 특히 시의 대한 이해의 폭이 남달랐고, 그것은 곧 시와 음악을 결합하는 역할로 이어졌다. 슈만의「여인의 사랑과 생애」는‘가곡의 해’라고 불리우는 1840년도에 작곡된 작품으로, 낭만파를 대표하는 시인 중 하나인 샤미소(Adelbert Von Chamisso, 1781-1838)의 시에 음악을 붙인 연가곡이며 다음의 내용들을 담고 있다. 한 여인의 삶의 관점에서 바라보는 사랑하는 남자와의 첫 만남, 사랑의 결실을 맺는 결혼, 출산과 양육을 통해 행복한 삶을 살지만 남편과 사별하게 된 것, 이별에 대한 아픔을 겪고 노년을 맞이하는 이야기로 구성된다. 슈만은 가사에서 시어의 의미를 음악에 반영하기도 하였다. 예를 들어, 슈만은시어의 의미를 강조하기 위해 특정 형태의 리듬을 사용하거나, 반음계적 화성진행, 전조 등을 사용하였다.;This thesis examenes Robert Schumann's (1810-1856) song cycle,「Frauenliebe und Leben Op.42」, This thesis aims to and reveal the close relationship between poetry (lyrics) and music in order to help performers better understand this song cycle. Schumann is a representative composer of the Romantic composers of the 19th century, he is a significant composer following or succeeding Schubert and in the field of art song. Schumann's 「Frauenliebe und Leben, Op.42」was composed in 1840, which is called the "Year of Songs" And, ware this is a collection of love songs with music added to the poems of Adelbert Von Chamisso (1781-1838), one of the poets representing the Romantic period. Schumann selected eight of Chamisso's nine poems. As a talented musical poet in both music and literary fields, Schumann played an important role in the combination of poetry and music. This song cycle expresses the following stories: a woman encounter with a beloved man from the perspective of a woman's life, a marriage that bears the fruit of love, a happy life through childbirth and raising, but the bereavement of her husband, and the pain. Schumann expresses the meaning of the lyrics through his music in various ways. He repeatedly uses certain patterns of rhythms to emphasize the meaning of poetic lyrics and highlights the expression of the songs using a chromatic harmonic progression & modulations.
