시각장애 예술인과 함께하는 ‘인클루시브’ 뮤지컬 공연방안 연구

Abstract

현재 한국장애예술인협회에 등록된 예술인은 343명이며 그중 뮤지컬 경력을 가지고 있는 시각장애 예술인은 총 6명이다.시각적 이미지를 중시하는 뮤지컬의 특성상 뮤지컬 분야에서의 시각장애 예술인 활동은 미비한 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 시각장애인들이 장애라는 장벽을 넘어 공연예술을 향유할 수 있는 ‘배리어프리(barrier-free)’개념을 활용하여 장애 유무와 관계없이 모두가 함께하는 인간 중심의 ‘인클루시브(inclusive)’ 뮤지컬 제작을 위한 공연방안을 제안하고자 한다. 그동안 시각장애인이 공연예술을 향유하기 위한 방법론들을 제안하는 연구가 다수 이루어졌다. 이들 연구는 주로 시각장애인이 관람객의 입장일 때 공연의 관람을 돕는 방법을 제시하는 연구가 많았다. 수년 전부터 국내에는 배리어프리, 인클루시브를 내건 장애인과의 협업을 이루는 공연 작품이 등장하고 있다. 본 연구는 시각장애 예술인과 비장애 예술인과의 뮤지컬 협업을 위한 연구로써 장애인들의 관람에 관해 연구했던 기존 논문들과는 차별점을 둔다. 따라서 본 연구자는 국내 장애예술인의 활동 현황을 알아보기 위한 선행연구를 조사하고 국내외 장애인을 위한 공연단체 및 장애예술인과의 협업을 진행하는 단체의 사례조사, 실 시각장애 예술 관련인들과의 인터뷰를 통해 뮤지컬 협업을 위한 실질적인 문제점을 도출하였다. 연구를 통해 도출된 ‘장면별 변화하는 무대 위 연출 이해도’와 ‘무대 위 움직임 협업’이란 두 가지 문제점을 중심으로 다음의 세 가지 공연방안을 고안하였다. 첫째, 무대 위 공간감과 장면별 세트의 이해를 돕는 ‘촉각 무대 평면도’. 둘째, 색채 간 고대비를 이루어 사물에 대한 식별도를 높이는 ‘색의 고대비 연출법’. 셋째, 움직임 협업을 위해 무대 바닥에 구역을 나누기 위한 ‘점자블록 활용’. 위 방안은 시각장애 예술인과 비장애 예술인이 ‘예술이라는 이름 아래 모두가 평등한’ 환경에서의 공연예술을 만들어가는 방안 제시이자 나아가 비주류에만 머물러 있던 장애인의 예술 활동이 다양한 협업을 통해 활발해짐으로 공연예술계에 긍정적인 영향을 끼치게 될 것이다. 기존 연구에서는 주목되지 않았던 시각장애 예술인과의 공연예술 활동에 필요한 실증적 자료를 제공했다는 점에서 본 연구의 의의가 있음을 밝힌다.;Currently, there are 343 artists registered in the Korea Disabled Artist Association, in which six percent of them are visually impaired artists with musical experience. Due to the nature of musicals that value visual images, the activities of visually impaired artists in the musical field are rare. This study aims to propose a human-centered "inclusive" musical collaboration manual that allows everyone to enjoy performing arts beyond the barrier of disability. In the meantime, a number of studies have been conducted to suggest methodologies for the visually impaired to enjoy performing arts. These studies mainly suggested ways to help blind people watch performances as part of the audience. Since many years ago, many performances involving barrier-free and inclusive collaborations with disabled people have appeared in Korea. This study is aimed at musical collaboration between visually impaired and non-disabled artists and it is different from the previous studies in that the disabled plays a role of the audience. Therefore, the researcher conducted a pilot study to research the current status of disabled artists in Korea. Then realistic solutions were derived through case studies of organizations that collaborate with disabled artists at home and abroad and interviews with visually impaired artists. This researcher devised the following three collaboration instructions, focusing on the two problems of "understanding the direction on the changing stage by scenes" and "collaboration through movements on the stage" derived through this study. First, the "Simulation Touch Tour" helps you understand the space on the stage and the set of each scene. Second, the "Color Contrast Directing Method" helps you distinguish where the objects are by contrasting colors. Third, "Utilizing Braille Blocks" helps you collaborate for the movements on the stage by dividing areas on the stage floor. The above instructions will present the manual for the visually impaired and non-disabled artists to create performing arts in an environment where "all of them are equal under the name of art" and furthermore serve as a positive starting point for disabled artists to come into the mainstream. This study is significant in that it provided the empirical data necessary for performing arts activities with visually impaired artists, which were not noted in the previous studies.
