무용작품 「만개(滿開)」에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 2020년 6월 19일 이화여자대학교 홀Ⅰ에서 발표한 연구자의 무용작품「만개」의 창작과정을 분석한 연구이다. 본 작품은 핵심개념을 산오구굿으로 하였고, 새로운 삶으로 다시 태어나고자 변화를 추구하는 인간의 주체적 의지를 대변하는‘내면적 재생’을 통해서, 존재적 정체성이 재탄생되는 과정을 표현한다. 이에 본 논문의 목적은 작품 속에 내재된 주제가 어떻게 예술적으로 형상화되는지를 예술구성요소들과 함께 표현되는 움직임의 의미를 중심으로 분석하는데 있다. 본 작품의 안무 의도는 다음과 같다. 작품「만개」는 과거 스승의 죽음을 대면한 내적 경험이 작품의 모티프가 되었지만, 이를 통해 오히려‘현존하는 생명’을 작품의 주제로 승화시켰다. 이러한 본인의 실제 내적 경험을 통해 연구자는 인간의 존재적 정체성의 탐색을 작품으로 풀어내고자 했다. 작품을 통해서 인간은 죽음이라는 공통적인 유한성 앞에‘지금 이 순간’의 현재가 가장 유일한 생(生)의 특권임을 강조하고, 미래지향적 삶의 방향을 제시하는 메시지를 주제의식으로 투영하고자 했다. 작품의 핵심개념인 산오구굿은 망자의 오구굿과 동일하게 사후를 목적하는 죽음이 중심이 되는 굿의 공간에서 역설적으로 현존하는 내적 응시를 통해, 인간 자신의 현재를 재조명한다. 연구자는 이러한 산오구굿의 역설적 매력을 통하여 현재에서 변화를 일궈내는 주체적 의지인‘내면적 재생’이 인간에게 주어진 유일한 생명적 특권임을 작품「만개」속에 명명하고, 내적 변화의 과정을 상징적 초점으로 구성하여 총 3장으로 표현한다. 본 연구자는 현재 펜데믹 코로나의 소통적 위기 속에서 안무 작품「만개」를 통해 자신의 내면과 소통할 수 있는 기회를 그려보고자 했다. 무엇보다 자신을 솔직하게 응시하는 관점을 작품 속에 투영시키고, 인간의 보이지 않는 내면을 대상으로 하는 주제를 통해서, 따뜻한 공감대와 위로를 제공하는 작품이 되기를 희망하는 바이다. 또한 본 연구는 자신의 작품을 분석하여 예술정체성을 스스로 검토해보고 성찰하는 계기를 마련해 주었다. 따라서 추후 지속되는 안무자의 예술적 가치관의 방향을 제시하고, 굳건한 기초를 마련하는 것에 연구의 의의가 있다. ;This thesis analyzed the creative process of the researcher's dance work「Full Bloom」, presented on 19 June 2020 at Ewha Womans University Hall 1. While the key concept of this work is Sanogugut, the work portrays the process of existential identity getting recreated through‘inner regeneration’, which represents the humans’will to pursue changes in order to get reborn into a new life. Thus, the aim of this thesis is to analyze how the theme of the work is artistically actualized, focusing on the meaning of movements expressed together with the artistic elements. The choreographic intention of this work is as follows. While the past inner experience of encountering death of the teacher became motif of「Full Bloom」, this was rather assimilated into the theme of the‘existing lives’. Through this actual inner experience, the researcher attempted to unfold the exploration of the existential identity of humans in the work. It was attempted to highlight that with the universal finitude of humans called death ahead, the only privilege given by life is the‘very moment of the present’, and to deliver a message which suggests the future-oriented direction in life. The work's key concept Sanogugut, which is an occasion centered around death that precedes afterlife just like the Ogugut for the deceased is, makes one re-examine the present of oneself through ironically existing self-reflection. Through this ironical aspect of Sanogugut, the researcher declares in「Full Bloom」that‘inner regeneration’, which is an independent will that makes changes at the present, is the only privilege of life given to humans, and portrays the process of inner changes through 3 acts, structured by symbolic focuses. Amid the communicative crisis during the COVID-19 pandemic, the researcher attempted to provide the opportunity to communicate with the inner side of the selves through the work「Full Bloom」. While the perspective of openly examining the self is reflected in the work, it is hoped that this work offers the sympathy and comfort by selecting the theme which deals with the invisible inner side of humans. In addition, this study gave an opportunity to review and reflect on the researcher's own artistic identity by analyzing her own work. Thus, it is significant that it gives a direction for the choreographer's ongoing view of art, and that it forms a strong foundation.
