Abstract

본 논문의 목적은 본인의 석사과정 졸업 연주 프로그램인 요하네스 브람스(Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897)의「Cello Sonata in e minor, op.38 No.1」와 프랑시스 뿔랑(Francis Poulenc, 1899-1963)의 연가곡집「La courte paille(작은 밀짚) FP.178」의 연구를 통하여 브람스의 첼로 음악과, 뿔랑의 가곡에 대해서 분석하고 연주에 이해도를 높이고자 작성되었다. 첫 번째 연구인 브람스는 일생동안 단 두 개의 첼로 소나타를 작곡하였다. 그중 본 논문에서 다뤄지는 첫 번째 첼로 소나타(op.38)는 그의 어머니가 돌아가신 직후에 작곡된 곡으로 첼로 파트의 낮은 음역대와 전 악장의 단조 구성과 같은 다양한 음악 어법을 통해 그가 느꼈던 우울하고 쓸쓸한 감정을 표현하고 있다. 이 곡은 총 3개의 악장으로 1악장은 전통적인 소나타 형식, 2악장은 미뉴엣-트리오의 복합 3부분 형식, 3악장은 푸가 형식으로 구성되어 있다. 두 번째 연구인 뿔랑은 프랑스 6인조(Les six) 중 한 명으로, 에릭 사티(Érik Satie, 1866~1925)의 영향을 많이 받은 작곡가이다. 뿔랑은 프랑스어 수사법에 대한 감각을 갖고 있었을 뿐 아니라 문학 작품의 영향을 많이 받아, 그의 가곡은 문학 작품들과 곡들을 적절히 조화시켜 프랑스 가곡의 발전에 큰 도움을 주었다. 그의 마지막 연가곡집인 「La courte paille FP.178」은 총 7곡으로, 제1곡은 Le sommeil, 제2곡은 Quelle aventure 제3곡은 La reine de cœur, 제4곡은 Ba, Be, Bi, Bo, Bu, 제5곡은 Les anges musiciens, 제6곡은 Le carafon, 마지막은 제7곡 Lune d‘avril 이다. 일곱 곡들 사이의 내용적인 연결성은 없지만, 연접한 곡들 간의 템포 변화로 흥미를 유발하고 있으며, 온음계적 멜로디와 단순한 리듬을 통해 그의 초기 작곡 스타일을 엿볼 수 있다.;The purpose of this study is to understand and analyze cello pieces of Johannes Brahms (1833–1897) by studying“Cello Sonata in e minor, op.38 No.1 and art songs of Francis Poulenc (1899–1963) by Song cycle “La courte paille FP.178” As the first topic of this study, Brahms was a prudent composer and composed only 2 cello sonatas. His first cello sonata (op.38) which studies in this study was composed after his mother passed away. His depressed and sad emotions were expressed by the low ranges of cello and structure of minor key. This piece is composed of total 3 movements; 1st movement (a typical sonata form), 2nd movement (minuet-trio), and 3rd movement (fugue). The second topic of this study is Poulenc. As he was one of the members of Les six, he was highly influenced by Eric Satie (1866–1925). He had a sense of French rhetoric and his art songs helped the development of French art songs by harmonizing literary works with traditional composition techniques under the influence of many literatures. His last song cycle “La courte paille FP.178” is composed of total 7 songs; 1st song is Le sommeil, 2nd song is Quelle aventure, 3rd song is La reine de Coeur, 4th song is Ba, Be, Bi, Bo, Bu, 5th song is Les anges musiciens, 6th song is Le carafon, and last 7th song is Lune d’avril. 7 songs are not related with each other but similar tempo changes bring interest, and it shows his early composition style by whole-tone scale and simple rhythms.
