Paul Hindemith의 <Viola Sonata Op.11 No.4> 분석 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 파울 힌데미트(Paul Hindemith, 1895-1963)의 작품 중 초기에 해당하는 작품인《비올라 소나타 Op.11 No.4》(Viola Sonata Op.11 No.4)에 관한 분석연구이다. 이 곡은 힌데미트가 초연하고 자주 연주한 곡 중 하나로 그가 작곡한 소나타 모음곡 중 네번째에 해당하는 곡이다. 이 곡은 3악장으로 이루어져 있지만 전통적인 소나타 양식인 제시부-전개부-재현부로 이루어져 있는 것이 아니라 아타카(Attacca)형식으로 전악장이 자연스럽게 연결되어 청중들이 악장이 끝나는 것을 인지하기 어렵게 작곡 되었다. 본 곡의 악장구성은 1악장 Fantasie, 2악장 Theme mit variationen, 3악장 Finale로 이루어져 있다. 1악장은 자유로운 음악 형식을 가지고 주제선율을 비올라와 피아노가 번갈아가면서 반복, 모방, 대위법 적인 형식으로 연주하고 빠른음형과 반음계적 하행을 보여주며 선율을 노래한다. 2,3악장은 푸가 형식으로 총 7번의 변주를 볼 수 있는데 같은 주제로 이어져 연결되어 연주된다. 본 논문은 본 연구자의 대학원 석사 이수를 위한 졸업 리사이틀 프로그램 중 한 곡인《비올라 소나타 Op.11 No.4》(Viola Sonata Op.11 No.4)를 연주자들의 곡 해석과 이해를 돕기 위해 힌데미트의 생애와 신고전주의 작품경향을 중심으로 연구하였다.;This study is about Paul Hindemith Viola Sonata Op.11 No.4 which are included in one of the master’s degree graduation concert program of the researcher. This Thesis analyzes the fragments of anti-romantic composition styles and neoclassicalism of Paul Hindemith (1895-1963) with a work corresponding to the early days of his work This work is one of the piece that was composed by Paul Hindemith, premiered and played frequently. The work is consisted of three movements, but is not composed of the traditional sonata style as exposition, development and recapitulation. However is composed with movements of 1, 2, and 3 and unnoticieably connected to the form of Attacca. In the first movement, viola and piano alternately repeats and imitates the melody of the theme. Also, the melody has descending chromatic scale with the counterpoint. In the second and third movement, it is consisted of seven variations with the style of fugue. In these two movements, the same theme is connected within the two movements, as a result, it is unnoticeably connected into the next movement, the third movement. As Paul Hindemith intended, audiences cannot notice that the next movement, the third movement, was played. This thesis studies about Paul Hindemith life and anlayze the work of Viola Sonata Op.11 No.4 to give a broad understands for the performers.
