전통 관악기와 서양 관악기 음색에 대한 정서 지각 비교 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 전통 관악기와 서양 관악기 음색에 대한 정서 지각의 차이를 비교하는 것에 목적을 두었다. 본 연구에서는 생명윤리위원회(IRB)의 승인을 받아, 20대 일반 성인을 대상으로 음악 감상 과제가 포함된 온라인 실험연구를 진행하였다. 연구에 참여한 총 64명의 대상자는 네 가지 관악기인 피리와 오보에, 대금과 플롯의 음악을 듣고 각 악기의 음색에 대한 정서 지각의 하위 요인인 이완도, 역동감, 무게감, 질감, 명료도, 친숙도 총 여섯 가지 항목을 리커트 척도로 평가하도록 하였다. 또한, 네 가지 악기 음색에서 지각된 색상과 명도를 평가하기 위해 정서-색채 스펙트럼(Affect Color Matching Spectrum)척도를 제시하여 응답을 수집하여 분석하였다. 최종적으로 수집된 데이터는 전통악기 및 서양악기와 리드 여부에 따른 관악기 간 정서 지각의 차이를 확인하기 위해 이원분산분석(two-way ANOVA)과 t검정을 사용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 분석 결과, 전통악기 및 서양악기와 리드 여부에 따른 관악기 음색에 대한 정서 지각 항목 중 이완도와 질감에서 유의한 차이가 나타남에 따라 리드를 사용하지 않는 서양 관악기의 음색은 부드럽고 이완적인 것으로 지각하였으며, 관악기 음색에 대한 이완도와 질감의 상호작용도 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 리드 여부에 따른 전통 관악기와 서양 관악기 음색 간의 정서 지각 차이를 확인하기 위해 분석한 결과, 리드를 사용하는 전통악기인 피리의 음색은 서양악기인 오보에보다 이완적이지 않고 정서가 강하게 느껴지는 것으로 지각되며, 거친 질감으로 지각하였다. 리드를 사용하지 않는 전통악기인 대금의 음색은 서양악기인 플롯보다 무거운 무게감인 것으로 지각하며 덜 부드러운 질감인 것으로 지각하였다. 리드 여부에 따라 피리와 오보에 음색, 대금과 플롯 음색 간의 지각되는 색상과 명도의 차이를 확인하기 위해 χ2 검정으로 교차 분석하여 빈도와 비율을 분석한 결과, 피리와 오보에 음색에 대한 색상 항목에서 유의한 차이를 보였다. 본 연구 결과는 관악기 음색에 대한 정서 지각의 차이를 전통악기 및 서양악기와 리드 여부로 구분하여 직접적인 연관성을 밝힌 결과로, 이를 근거하여 관악기의 음색이 치료적으로 활용할 수 있는 기초 연구 자료로 사용될 수 있을 것이다. ;The purpose of this study was to compare the difference in emotional perception of the tones of the Korean traditional wind instruments and the western wind instruments. In this study, with the approval of the Institutional Review Board (IRB), an online experimental study was conducted for general adults in their twenties, including a music listening task. A total of 64 subjects who participated in the study listened to the music of the four wind instruments, Piri, Oboe, Daegeum, and Flute, and totaled relaxation, potency, weight, texture, clarity, and familiarity, which are sub-factors of emotional perception for the tone of each instrument. Six items were evaluated on the Likert scale. In addition, the Affect Color Matching Spectrum scale was proposed, and responses were collected and analyzed in order to evaluate the perceived color and brightness of the four instrument tones. Finally, the collected data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA and t-test to confirm the difference in emotional perception between the traditional instruments, the western instruments, and wind instruments whether reed or not. As a result of the analysis of this study, as there was a significant difference in relaxation and texture among the emotional perception details/contents/feature for the traditional instruments, the Western instruments, and wind instrument tones depending on whether reed or not, the western instrument tones without reed were perceived more softly and relaxedly. It was found that the interaction between relaxation and texture was also significant. In addition, as a result of the analysis to confirm the difference in emotional perception between the tones of traditional wind instruments and western wind instruments according to the presence of reed, Piri, a traditional instrument using reed, was perceived as a tone that is not more relaxed and emotional than Oboe a western instrument and was found to be percevied as a tone with rough texture than Oboe. Daegeum that is a Korean traditional wind instrument without a reed was perceived as a tone with heavier weight than Flute of a western instrument. and acknowledge as a tone with less soft texture. To confirm the difference in perceived color and brightness between Piri and Oboe tones and Daegeum and Flute tone using cross-analyzing with χ2, the frequency and ratio were analyzed. As a result, significant differences were found in color items for Piri and Oboe tones. The results of this study reveal a direct relationship between the differences in emotional perception of wind instrument tones by dividing them into the traditional instruments, and the Western instruments without using the reed. Based on this, it could be used as basic research data that could be used therapeutically for wind instrument tones.
