나혜석의 『경희』에 내재된 여성주체의식을 바탕으로 한 무용창작작품 「나, 飛」에 관한 연구

Abstract

오늘날 현대사회가 자본주의 경제체제를 확립함에 따라 사회구성원들은 자신의 능력과 역량으로 성공할 수 있는 기회를 도모하게 되었고 자신의 자아실현을 삶의 중요한 과제로 여기게 되었다. 그러나 역사 속 타자의 위치에 존재해왔던 여성이 자신의 자아를 실현하기 위해서는 사회의 가부장적인 관념과 담론을 극복해야 하는 사회의 현실과 마주하게 되었다. 연구자는 무용창작작품 「나, 飛」를 통해 이와 같은 사회의 문제를 지적하고 여성이 자아실현을 이루며 자유로운 삶을 창조해 나가기 위해 자신의 존재에 대한 주체적 의식을 세우고 다양한 관념들을 극복하기 위한 진취적인 자세를 지녀야 함을 알리고자 하였다. 본 연구는 나혜석의 『경희』에 내재된 여성주체의식을 바탕으로 무용창작작품 「나, 飛」를 창작하고 이를 분석한 것이다. 주제 및 내용, 장면구성과 공간사용, 무용수의 이동경로 및 움직임, 오브제의 사용과 의미를 중심으로 작품을 통해 전하고자 하는 바가 부각되도록 안무하였으며, 작품전개에 따라 무대공간을 나누어 설정하였으며 오브제에 상징적 의미를 부여하여 여성이 주체의식을 통해 사회에 존재하는 고정된 관념과 관습을 극복하고 자아실현을 위해 나아가는 모습을 표현하였다. 작품은 총 세 개의 장으로 구성하여 전개하였다. 작품의 1장에서는 사회의 가부장적인 관념에 의해 겪게 되는 억압과 구속감을 나타내고자 무대 뒤 A공간을 억압의 공간으로 설정하였다. 이러한 내용을 표현하기 위해 반복적으로 몸을 두드리는 동작을 부각시켜 자아의 억눌림으로 불안한 심리를 느끼는 모습을 나타내었고 사회의 틀을 상징하는 테이블 안에서 비틀거리고 휘청이는 움직임을 통해 사회의 관념을 따르는 것과 자유롭게 자아를 실현하는 것 사이에서 내적인 갈등을 경험하는 장면을 표현하였다. 이때 조도를 낮춘 파란색 조명을 사용하여 사회의 어두움에 대한 심리적 무게감을 나타내고자 하였으며, 음악은 느린 속도로 연주된 현악기의 곡과 불규칙한 리듬의 피아노곡을 사용하여 억압과 갈등의 심리를 표현하고자 하였다. 2장은 사회의 고정된 관념에 의한 자아의 억눌림에서 벗어나 주체의식을 형성해 나아가는 것을 표현하기 위해 A공간에서 벗어나 저항을 의미하는 B공간으로 이동하여 장면을 전개하였다. 작은 범위의 동작에서 서서히 확장된 움직임을 나타내었고, 테이블을 다양한 형태로 자유롭게 움직이는 모습을 통해 주체의식의 성장과 능동적인 자세로의 변화를 표현하였다. 또한 빠른 템포의 피아노 곡과 첼로 곡을 사용하여 활기찬 분위기를 더하였고, 노란색 조명을 사용하여 주체의식의 형성을 통한 희망을 나타내고자 하였다. 3장에서는 주체의식을 통해 자신을 억눌리게 했던 사회의 관념들을 극복하는 것을 표현하고자 하였다. 극복과 자유를 상징하는 C공간으로 테이블을 이동시키고 의지와 활력을 의미하는 초록색 조명을 비추어 자아실현에 대한 강한 의지를 나타내었고, 높이 점프하고 뻗는 움직임의 특질을 사용하여 진취적인 모습을 표현하였다. 또한 세워져 있던 오브제를 쓰러트리는 장면과 함께 구두소리의 효과음을 사용하여 사회의 고정된 틀을 극복하고 자아실현을 이루는 여성의 모습을 상징적으로 나타내었다. 이와 같이 본 연구는 오늘날 현대사회의 여성이 시대의 변화를 이끌어 가는 주체로서 자유의지를 갖고 주체적인 삶을 영위함으로써 자아실현을 이룰 수 있다는 점을 강조하고, 여성이 사회의 다양한 문제와 고정된 관념들을 해결하기 위한 도전적인 자세와 지향적 사고를 지녀야 할 것을 무용창작작품 「나, 飛」를 통해 전하고자 하였다.;As today's modern society established a capitalist economic system, members of society have come to seek opportunities to succeed with their abilities and capacities and have come to regard self-realization as an important task in life. However, women who have existed in positions other than themselves in history have come to face with the reality of society that must overcome the patriarchal notions and discourse of society to realize their egos. The researcher intended to point out the problems of society through this creative dance performance called 「Na, Bi(I, 飛)」 and to inform that women must establish a self-reliant awareness of their existence to create a free life through self-realization and that they should have an enterprising attitude to overcome various ideas. This study created and analyzed a creative dance performance called 「Na, Bi(I, 飛)」 based on the consciousness of female subjects inherent in 『Kyung Hee』 by Nah, Hye Seok. The work was choreographed to highlight what was meant to be conveyed based on the theme and content, scene composition and use of space, the path and movement of dancers, and the use and meaning of objects, set and divided the stage according to the content development, and expressed how women overcome fixed notions and customs that exist in society and move toward self-realization through a sense of identity by giving the object a symbolic meaning. The work consisted of three chapters and developed the contents. In Chapter 1, the space A behind the stage was set as a place of oppression to express the oppression and restraint that people suffer from a patriarchal notion of society. In order to express this content, the image of feeling uneasiness and anxiety by the suppression of the ego was created by highlighting the movement of tapping the body repeatedly, and expressed the scene of experiencing internal conflict between conforming to social conceptions and fulfilling oneself freely through the staggering and stumbling movements inside the table that symbolizes the framework of society. Here, the psychological weight of darkness of society was intended to be conveyed by using blue lighting with reduced illumination, and music was intended to express the psychology of oppression and conflict using a piece of stringed music played at a slow pace and an irregularly rhythmic piece of piano music. In Chapter 2, the scene of moving away from space A to space B, which signifies resistance, was developed to express the image of moving away from self-suppression by the fixed notions of society to form a sense of identity. A small range of motion represented gradual extended movements, and expressed the growth of sense of identity and the shift to active attitude through the free movement of moving the table in various forms. Also, a vibrant atmosphere was created using fast-tempo piano and cello music, and the yellow lighting was used to express hope through the formation of a sense of identity. Chapter 3 intended to express overcoming the notions of society that suppressed people through self-consciousness. A strong will for self-realization was expressed by moving the table to space C, which symbolizes conquest and freedom, and flashing green lighting that signifies will and vitality, and expressed an adventurous and initiative image using the features of jumping high and stretching movements. Also, the image of women overcoming the fixed framework of society and achieving self-realization was expressed symbolically by using the scene where women push-down an object that was standing up and using the sound effect of shoes. As said, this study intended to emphasize that women of today’s modern society can achieve self-realization by leading a self-reliant life with free will as a person who leads the change of the times, and to convey what women should have a defiant stand and oriented thinking to address various problems and fixed notions in society through the creative dance performance 「Na, Bi(I, 飛)」.
