“The Emperor’s New Clothes" Using English-Musical for Young Learners

Abstract

One of the most recent trends in English language education is Teaching English Through English Musicals (TEEM). By employing the TEEM approach, EFL teachers can teach young learners professional musical skills as well as the four language skills. In addition, students can learn English in a non-threatening environment in which music, storytelling and English language learning are integrated into one. As someone who has majored in Musicals and English Education, I hope to makes the most of the benefits of the TEEM approach and help young learners increase their motivation to study English. ;최근의 영어교육 트렌드 중 하나는 영어뮤지컬을 통해 영어를 가르치는 것이다. TEEM (Teaching English Through English Musicals) 방식을 사용함으로써, EFL 교사들은 어린 학습자들에게 전문적인 음악 기술과 4가지의 언어 기술을 가르칠 수 있다. 게다가 학생들은 음악, 스토리텔링, 영어 학습이 하나로 융합된 편안한 환경에서 영어를 배울 수 있다. 뮤지컬과 영어교육을 전공한 사람으로서, 나는 TEEM의 장점을 최대한 활용하고 어린 학습자들이 영어공부에 대한 동기부여를 하는 데 도움을 주고 싶다.
