Learning English with Christianity Movies

Abstract

Purpose: To create English textbook through Christian Movies for Christian English learners who are interested in English Scripture and hoping to improve English four skills to prepare to deliver the good news mission to people who do not believe in Jesus. Rationale: Since it is important to make Christian English learners be motivated to be able to be interested in developing English skills to deliver the Mission, I use five interesting movies related to Christianity to be able to enlarge and acquire the Christian's world-view. In addition to the movies. I also use the Bible and Christianity books to support activities through task-based language learning (TBLT) and acquire extensive reading (ER). Target learners: College students of age 18~20. Both female and male Proficiency level: ACTFL Intermediate-high, Students are able to converse with ease and confidence when dealing with the routine tasks and social situations of the Intermediate level. Language Context: A Biblical-based small group session in college runs for 5 hours a week.
