음악 전공생과 음악의 관계

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 음악 전공생이 음악에서 지각하는 자기개념인 음악적 자기개념을 중심으로 음악 전공생과 음악의 관계를 파악하는 것이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 국내 음악대학에 재학 중인 음악 전공생 153명을 대상으로 음악적 자기개념을 조사하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 연구자가 5개의 영역으로 분류한 음악 전공생의 음악적 자기개념 영역별 수준 및 특징과 음악적 배경에 따른 영역들의 차이를 분석하였다. 조사는 온라인으로 진행하였으며, 분석은 수집된 총 153부의 설문지 중 불충분한 답변인 6부를 제외한 147부에 대해 SPSS Statistics를 활용하여 기술통계 분석, 일원배치 분산분석, 상관관계분석, 카이제곱 검정을 실시하였다. 분석 결과, 본 연구에 참여한 음악 전공생의 음악적 자기개념의 평균 점수는 4점 척도에서 3점대로 음악 전공생과 음악이 전반적으로 긍정적인 관계임을 알 수 있었다. 반면, 음악 전공생은 자신이 이상적으로 바라는 음악적 삶에 비해 현실적으로 인식하는 자신의 음악적 능력과 발전은 다소 낮게 평가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 통해 음악 전공생의 이상적인 음악적 모습과 현실적인 모습의 차이가 큰 것을 알 수 있었으며, 음악 전공생이 자신의 음악적 능력을 낮게 평가하는 것은 내면의 음악적 힘, 즉 음악아이의 활동이 약하다는 것을 의미한다. 더불어 음악 전공생은 음악활용의 빈도는 낮지만 음악활용 시 자신이 직접 연주하며 적극적으로 음악을 활용하는 모습을 나타냈는데, 이는 음악아이의 활성화에 긍정적인 영향을 미치기 때문에 음악 전공생이 전공으로써 음악하기 외의 환경에서 지속적으로 음악을 활용하는 것이 중요함을 시사했다. 또한, 음악 전공생의 음악적 자기개념들은 음악 전공생의 전공악기, 졸업 후 음악관련 진로희망 여부에 따라 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 음악 전공생이 음악적 자기개념을 중심으로 음악 전공생과 음악의 전반적인 관계에 대한 기초자료를 제공하였다. 또한, 음악 전공생과 음악의 관계를 알아봄으로써 음악 전공생의 음악아이와 자기실현의 중요성을 탐구하고 이에 관련된 연구를 제시했다는 점에 의의가 있다. ;The purpose of this study is to understand the relationship between music students and music focusing on musical self-concept, the self-concept music students perceive from music. To this end, a survey was conducted on musical self-concept with 153 music students attending music colleges (universities) in Korea. Based on the survey, this study analyzed the level and characteristics of each domain of relationship between music students and music of five domains in total categorized by the researcher and examined the difference in domains depending on the musical background. The survey was conducted online and a total of 147 copies of response were used in the final analysis, excluding 6 with incomplete answers from 153 copies of response collected. Using SPSS Statistics for data analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and chi-squared test were performed. As a result of analysis, the average score of the musical self-concept of the music students who participated in this study was 3 points on a 4-point scale, suggesting that the relationships between music students and music are generally positive. On the other hand, it was found that the music students rated their realistically perceived musical ability and development rather lower than the musical life they ideally envision for themselves. This suggests that there is a large gap between ideal musical appearance and realistic appearance in music students, and that such underrating of one’s own musical ability signifies that the inner musical power, that is, the activity of the Music Child is weak. In addition, although the music students had a low frequency of music use, they showed active use of music while personally playing music when they do use music. Because this aspect has a positive effect on activating the Music Child, the finding implies that it is important for music students to use music continuously in various environment other than that of doing music as a major field of study. It was also found that the musical self-concept of the music students significantly differed depending on the musical instrument one is majoring and the music related career one is hoping for after graduation. This study provided basic data on the overall relationship between music major students and music with a focus on the musical self-concept of music students. This study is significant in that it examined the relationship between music students and music so as to explore the importance of and suggested research related to the Music Child and self-actualization for music students.
