Learning Daily Expressions with the TV series, "Modern Family."

Abstract

This textbook is designed for students who want to learn authentic English with American TV series. The “Modern Family” will provide students with rich input and through the engaging and interactive activities and tasks in this book, students will work on improving all 4 skills, with special attention to idiomatic expressions, found in the TV clips. The aim is to have students explore the series’ themes and cultural content, and share their ideas and opinions with their classmates, with the intention of improving their communicative competence. Awareness to the meaning and use of idioms/colloquialisms is also a focus of this book so that target learners will be better equipped to follow American TV outside of class.
