Abstract

본 논문은 필자의 석사과정 졸업연주 프로그램인 요한 세바스티안 바흐(Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750)의 French Suite No. 6 in E major, BWV 817, 루트비히 판 베토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827)의 Piano Sonata No. 7 in D Major, Op. 10 No. 3, 프란츠 리스트(Franz Liszt, 1811-1886)의 Après une lecture de Dante: fantasia quasi sonata, 알베르토 하나스테라(Alberto Ginastera, 1916-1986)의 Danzas argentinas(1937)의 작품 해설로 작곡가의 시대순으로 기술하였다. 오페라를 제외한 모든 작품을 작곡한 요한 세바스티안 바흐(Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750)는 전 생애에 걸쳐 수많은 건반악기 작품을 작곡하였는데, 그의 대표 장르 중 하나인 모음곡(Suite)에서도 많은 작품을 남겼다. 각각 여섯 개로 이루어진 프랑스 모음곡(French Suite), 영국 모음곡(English Suite), 파르티타(Partita)를 작곡하였는데 그중 French Suite No. 6 in E major, BWV 817은 프랑스 모음곡 중 가장 마지막 작품으로 총 8곡의 춤곡으로 구성되며 기본 악장인 Allemande, Courante, Sarabande, Gigue와 선택 악장인 Gavotte, Polonaise, Menuet, Bourrée 로 구성된다. 고전시대를 대표하는 작곡가로 루트비히 판 베토벤(Ludwig van Beethoven, 1770-1827)은 전 생애에 걸쳐 32개의 피아노 소나타를 작곡하였다. 그중 초기의 작품에 속하는 Piano Sonata No. 7 in D Major, Op. 10 No. 3은 네 개의 악장으로 구성되어있으며 고전 소나타 형식의 틀을 지닌다. 그러나 끊임없이 모티브를 반복하여 극적인 성격을 형성하는 베토벤적인 면모를 보이며 그의 주관적인 성향을 표출한다. 피아노를 통해 화려한 관현악적 음향을 추구했던 작곡가 프란츠 리스트(Franz Liszt, 1811-1886)는 비르투오소 피아니스트로 고도의 테크닉이 요구되는 작품을 작곡하였다. 그의 Après une lecture de Dante: fantasia quasi sonata는 주제를 가지고 각각 다양하게 변형되는 주제 변형 기법을 사용하여 그의 음악적인 특징을 잘 나타낸다. 알베르토 히나스테라 (Alberto Ginastera, 1916-1986)는 남미의 대표적인 20세기 작곡가이다. 그가 작곡한 피아노 첫 작품인 Danzas argentinas(1937)는 그의 초기 작품으로 세 개의 춤곡으로 이루어졌으며 그의 음악적 특징인 민속적인 요소가 많이 나타난다. ;This thesis is based on a program of my master’s degree recital. The program features French Suite No. 6 in E major, BWV 817 by Johann Sebastian Bach, Piano Sonata No. 7 in D Major, Op. 10 No. 3, by Ludwig van Beethoven, Après une lecture de Dante: fantasia quasi sonata by Franz Liszt, Danzas argentinas(1937) by Alberto Ginastera, presented in chronological order. Composing all the genres except the operas, Johann Sebastian Bach(1685-1750) had composed many pieces for the keyboard instruments throughout his life, including the dance suite which was the primary genre in the Baroque instrumental music. He composed six French Suites, six English Suites, and six Partitas. French Suite No. 6 in E major, BWV 817 contains eight dance movements. It contains the standard movements such as Allemande, Courante, Sarabande and Gigue the optional dance movements such as Gavotte, Polonaise, Menuet and Bourrée. As a representative composer of the classical period, Ludwig van Beethoven(1770-1827) composed 32 Piano Sonatas throughout his life. Piano Sonata No. 7 in D Major, Op. 10 No. 3 which belongs to his early period consists of four movements following the classical sonata form. The first movement is based on a motive of four descending notes while the finale movement utilizes a motive of three rising notes. This Sonata is a fine example of how Beethoven construct a whole movement from such tiny materials. Drawing luminous brilliant orchestral sound from the piano, Franz Liszt(1811-1886) composed pieces requiring highly virtuosic techniques features. His Après une lecture de Dante: fantasia quasi sonata a thematic transformation in which a basic theme constantly reappears in a new context. The themes function as characters in a drama. Liszt alters intervals, note values, rhythmic patterns, harmony of a basic theme for both the compositional coherence and the expressive variety. Alberto Ginastera(1916-1966) is leading South American composer in the twentieth century. Danzas argentinas(1937), his first piano piece is a set of three dances, expressing folk traits. This work belongs to the “objective Nationalism”, his first stylistic period (1934-1948), which integrates Argentine folk elements in a very direct manner.
