켈러의 ARCS 학습동기 이론을 적용한 음악사 수업 지도방안 연구

Abstract

중학생의 음악사 학습에 있어 학습자에게 동기부여를 하는 일은 매우 중요하다. 음악사 수업은 향후 음악 교과의 학습의 기반이 됨과 동시에, ‘음악’이라는 예술의 근간을 알아보는 과정을 통해 그 시대의 역사·문화적 배경에 대한 이해가 이루어지기 때문이다. 그러나 음악사 수업의 이러한 의의에도 불구하고, 실제 교육현장에서 교사가 음악사 수업을 진행할 때 학습자들의 흥미를 지속적으로 유지시키기는 쉽지 않다. 따라서 음악사 수업 진행에 적절한 학습동기 유발 전략을 적용시키는 것 또한 중요하다. 하지만 현실적으로 이를 위한 체계적이고 창의적인 학습동기 유발 전략을 적용한 사례는 쉽지 않으며, 음악사 수업에 이를 적용한 사례는 찾아보기 어려웠다. 이에 본 연구는 켈러의 ARCS 학습동기 이론을 활용하여 음악사 수업 중 바로크 시대를 중심으로 한 효과적인 교수-학습 방법을 마련하고자 하였다. 지도안을 개발하기 전, 음악사 수업과 ARCS 학습동기 이론에 대한 정확한 지식을 가지고 이를 적용하기 위해 선행연구와 관련 문헌을 분석하였다. 이후 교과서 분석을 실시하여 14종의 2015 개정 음악 교과서에 제시된 바로크 시대의 작곡가와 감상곡의 분포를 정리하였고, 교과서에서 중요하게 다루어지는 바로크 시대의 특징에 관한 내용을 포함한 곡을 바탕으로 제재곡을 선정하였다. 이를 토대로 중학교 2학년을 대상으로 하여 ARCS 학습동기 이론을 전반적인 학습활동에 적용시킨 지도안을 개발하였다. 본 지도안의 연구는 학습자의 학습동기를 유발시킬 뿐만 아니라, 수업이 마무리될 때까지 학습동기를 지속시킴으로써 궁극적으로 효과적인 음악사 수업이 이루어지는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 지도안의 개발 후 음악교육 전문가 3인으로부터 내용 타당도를 검증받았고, 현직 음악 교사 3인으로부터 현장 적합도에 대한 검증을 받았다. 그 결과, 지도안의 내용 타당도는 ARCS 학습동기 이론에 해당하는 전략을 최대한 다양하게 적용시켰다는 점에서 우수하다고 평가받았다. 특히 학습자들의 초기 동기유발에 적합하도록 창의적인 수업 활동 및 교수법이 다양하게 구성되어 있다는 점이 장점으로 답변되었다. 그러나 관련성과 만족감 전략을 적용한 학습활동에서 다소 보완할 내용이 필요하다는 의견이 있었다. 지도안의 현장 적합도에 대해서는 전반적으로 우수하다고 평가되었으며, 실제 음악사 수업의 적용에 대한 가능성을 확인하였다. 그러나 실제 수업 시수를 고려해보았을 때 8차시 동안 바로크 시대의 학습이 이루어지기 힘들 수 있으며 한 차시의 활동량이 많아 수업시간이 부족하다는 점이 보완점으로 언급되었다. 본 연구를 통해 ARCS 학습동기 이론을 포함한 학습동기 전략이 보다 다양하게 음악 교과 내에서 효과적으로 활용되기를 기대하고 더불어 교사들이 학습자들로 하여금 음악사에 대한 흥미를 유지할 수 있도록 하는 후속연구를 진행하기 바란다. 더 나아가 음악 교과 안에서 학습자들이 학습 내용에 대해 흥미를 가지고 효과적으로 접근할 뿐만 아니라, 음악 전반에 대한 지속적인 관심을 갖기를 기대한다.;The purpose of this study is to develop classroom lesson plans on Baroque era music history classes for the second year of middle school students applying J.M.Keller’s ARCS Model of Motivational Design Theories. Before developing classroom lesson plans, prior research and related books were analyzed for accurate understanding of music history class and ARCS Model of Motivational Design Theories. Subsequently, the textbook analysis was conducted to summarize the distribution of Baroque composers and songs presented in 14 types textbooks of 2015 revised music class curriculum. Based on this, Music of classroom lesson plans which contains representative characteristics of the Baroque era was selected as a main activity music. Based on these contents, the classroom lesson plans were developed including various learning activities applied ARCS Model of Motivational Design Theories. The purpose of this plans are not only to give some educational motivation to student, but also to sustain it so that ultimately effective music history classes could be conducted. After the development of the plans, content validity was verified by three music education experts, and the on-site suitability was verified by three current music teachers. As a result, the validity of the contents of the plans was evaluated as excellent in that the strategies corresponding to the ARCS theories were applied as diverse as possible. The on-site suitability of the plans was also generally assessed as 'very valid’ or ‘valid' and the possibility of application of actual music history classes was confirmed. However, the lack of class time compared to amounts of activities was mentioned as a complement. Through this study, I suggest that the learning motivation strategies, including the ARCS theories, will be used more effectively within the music curriculum. In addition, it is hoped that a follow-up study will be conducted on the application of the actual class site based on this plans. In conclusion, I hope that students will not only have effective access to their learning content, but also continue to have a constant interest and motivation in music history classes.
