dc.description.abstractDetecting of singularies is a very important issue in image processing and many scientific computation applications.This study proposes an improved edge detection method using a polynomial annihilating technique. In order to construct a scheme which is robust to noise, we employ the moving least squares (MLS) approximation which has a certain vanishing moment. Moreover, on the purpose of enhancing denoising effect, we perform a preprocessing by applying a Gaussian filter. As a final step, the so-called `minmod technique' is exploited to preserve high-order vanishing moment away from the discontinuities while reducing oscillations near discontinuities.We provide several numerical results to show the ability of the new edge detection method. Various test images containing the synthetic images which contain the actual ground truth edges are used to test the our method. In particular, for a synthetic image with actual ground truth edge, the quantative measure, that is Pratt's figure of merit, is used to compare the proposed method with other edge detection methods. ;이 논문은 MLS 근사법을 기반으로 한 수정된 edge detection 방법을 소개한다. 이 논문에서 노이즈를 포함한 테이터를 다루기위해 edge를 detecting을 하기에 앞서 the Gaussian filter를 사용하여 전처리하여 edge를 찾는 과정에서 노이즈의 영향 줄였다. 기존의 MLS 근사법에 파라미터를 추가한다. 이는 노이즈 데이터에서 더 정확한 엣지를 찾아준다. 또한, 우리는 minmod 함수를 적용하여 불연속점 주변에서의 진동들을 감소시켜 진동들로 인해 불연속점을 잘 못 찾는 것을 막아준다. 최종적으로 이를 이용한 알고리즘으로 일차원 함수들에 적용하여 잘 작동되는지에 대해 보였으며, 이차원 이미지들에 대해서는 시각적인 결과 뿐만 아니라 수치적인 결과를 제시하여 제안한 방법의 이점에 대해 보였다.-
