dc.description.abstractThe increase of women entrepreneurs is considered as one of the vital issues in the field of development. Women-owned SMEs not only give a significant contribution to the country’s national income, but also play a crucial role in reducing poverty and gender inequality through creating opportunities for women to participate in the economy. However, women as entrepreneurs are reported to face significant obstacles which make their firms have lower performance compared to their male counterparts. In order to address this issue, women entrepreneurs have been encouraged to register their business which enables them to access the SMEs development program provided by the government. This research intends to analyze the impact of business registration on the growth of women-owned SMEs by analyzing their business activities including the costs and benefits of entry regulation, women’s entrepreneurial motivations, business-financing, network-building, sales, profits, and employment. This study was conducted in Tangerang municipality, Indonesia, since it the region holds significant amounts of women entrepreneurs, also its economic growth is currently showing increase trends which at the same time creates opportunities for local business to flourish. A qualitative method using questionnaire distributed to 37 women entrepreneurs, complemented by 11 in-depth interviews, was conducted in order to achieve the goals of this research. The study found that business registration indeed resulted increase on the growth of women-owned SMEs through providing simplified entry regulation and providing business development support, such as access to formal financial loans and business networks. The increase on sales and profits of women-owned SMEs were resulted from network-building rather than formal financial loans, whereas business registration did not show a significant impact on the employment. Furthermore, support from the family also plays a critical role in women-owned venture’s growth. ;여성 기업가 증가는 개발 분야에서 필수적인 문제들 중 하나로 여겨진다. 여성 소유 중소기업은 국민 소득 증가에 상당한 기여를 할 뿐만 아니라 여성들이 경제에 참여할 수 있는 기회를 창출함으로써 빈곤과 성 불평등을 줄이는 데 중요한 역할을 한다. 그러나, 여성 기업가들은 남성 기업들에 비해 더 낮은 실적을 거두게 하는 장애물에 직면한다고 보고되고있다. 문제 해결을 위해, 정부는 여성 기업가들이 여성 중소기업 지원 사업에 지원하도록 장려하고있다. 본 연구는 진입규제로 발생되는 비용과 편익, 여성의 기업가적 동기, 사업 자금 조달, 네트워크 구축, 매출, 이익, 고용 등의 사업 활동을 분석하여 여성 소유 중소기업의 성장에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 한다. 이 연구는 여성 기업가들이 많은 인도네시아 탠거랑 시를 대상으로 실시되었다. 이곳의 경제 성장은 현재 증가하는 추세를 보이고 있으며 이는 지역 사업 활성 기회를 창출한다. 본 연구는 37명의 여성 기업인에 설문지 배포와 11개의 심층 인터뷰 방법을 통한 정성적인 접근 방법으로 수행되었다. 이번 연구를 통해 사업자 등록 단순화를 통한 진입 규제 단순화와, 금융 대출과 사업 네트워크 기회 제공 등을 통한 사업 개발 지원 제공은 여성 소유 중소기업의 성장 증가를 야기하는 것으로 나타났다. 여성 소유 중소기업의 매출 증가와 수익 증가는 금융 대출이 아닌 네트워크 구축에서 비롯된 반면, 사업자 등록은 고용에 큰 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 가족지지 또한 여성 소유 벤처 기업 성장에 중요한 역할을 한다.-
