어머니가 지각한 결혼만족도와 문지기 역할이 부모공동양육에 미치는 영향

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to observe whether and how mothers marital satisfaction influences co-parenting(cooperation, triangulation, and conflict) through their maternal gate closing and gate opening. For the study, questionnaires filled by 329 mothers whose first child is a 3, 4, 5 year-old preschooler were collected, and analyzed based on scales from the Revised Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale(RKMSS; Chung, 2004; Schumm et al., 1983), the Korean the maternal gatekeeping scale(Jo, & Lim, 2016; Schoppe-Sullivan et al., 2008; Van Egeren, 2000), and Co-parenting Questionnaire(CQ; Margolin et al., 2001). Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, correlations, structural equation modeling(SEM) using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 20.0. The results of the study are summarized as follows: First, it is observed that mothers’ marital satisfaction directly, and indirectly through maternal gate closing and maternal gate opening, influences cooperation in co-parenting. Second, mothers’ marital satisfaction indirectly through only maternal gate closing, influences triangulation in co-parenting, but no direct effect of maternal marital satisfaction on triangulation in co-parenting is not observed. Third, mothers’ marital satisfaction indirectly through only maternal gate closing, influences conflict in co-parenting, but no direct effect of maternal marital satisfaction on conflict in co-parenting is not observe. In conclusion, the study confirms a link of mother's marital satisfaction, co-parenting(cooperation, triangulation, conflict), and maternal gate closing as well as maternal gate opening mediating therebetween. Although there are differences in direct and indirect effects for each subfactor, maternal gate closing and maternal gate opening is shown to mediate between marital satisfaction and co-parenting(cooperation, triangulation, and conflict). In particular, the importance of maternal gate closing was emphasized. Furthermore, the study helps parents whose first born child is a preschooler to learn the importance of mother’s martial satisfaction. Moreover, it is expected to be used as primary data to find ways to encourage co-parenting by experimenting with the meditating effects of maternal gate opening and gate closing.;본 연구의 목적은 첫 자녀가 만 3, 4, 5세의 유아기인 어머니를 대상으로 어머니의 결혼만족도와 어머니의 문지기 역할인 문 닫기 역할 및 문 열기 역할이 부모공동양육(협력, 삼각화, 갈등)에 미치는 영향에 대해 살펴보는 것이다. 이를 위해 첫 자녀가 만 3, 4, 5세 유아기인 어머니 329명을 대상으로 연구를 실시하였고, 질문지법을 이용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 본 연구에서 사용한 척도들은 다음과 같다. 먼저, 어머니의 결혼만족도는 Schumm, Nicols, Schectman과 Grigsby(1983)이 개발한 KMSS(Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale)를 우리나라 문화에 맞게 수정한 RKMSS(Chung, 2004)의 4개 문항을 활용하여 측정하였다. 그리고 어머니의 문지기 역할은 Van Egeren(2000)이 개발한 PRI(Parental Regulation Inventory)를 Schoppe-Sullivan, Brown, Cannon, Mangelsdorf와 Sokolowski(2008)이 수정・보완한 것을 바탕으로 조윤진과 임인혜(2016)가 한국판 어머니 문지기 역할 척도로 개발하고 타당화 검증을 거친 측정도구를 사용하였다. 다음으로 부모공동양육은 Margolin, Gordis와 John(2001)이 개발한 CQ(Co-parenting Questionnaire) 척도를 번역과 역번역, 재검토 과정을 통해 사용하였다. 자료분석은 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 사용하여 기술통계와 상관관계를 산출하였으며, AMOS 20.0 프로그램을 사용하여 구조방정식모형 분석을 실시하였다. 어머니의 결혼만족도, 어머니의 문 닫기 역할 및 문 열기 역할이 부모공동양육(협력, 삼각화, 갈등)에 미치는 영향에 대한 결과를 요약해보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 결혼만족도는 어머니의 문 닫기 역할 및 문 열기 역할을 통해 협력에 직・간접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 어머니의 결혼만족도가 높을수록 높은 협력을 보여주었다. 또한 어머니의 결혼만족도가 높을수록 어머니는 낮은 문 닫기 역할과 높은 문 열기 역할을 보여주고, 이를 통해 부모공동양육의 협력은 높게 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 결혼만족도는 어머니의 문 닫기 역할을 통해서만 삼각화에 간접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 어머니의 결혼만족도가 높을수록 어머니의 문 닫기 역할은 덜 나타났고, 이를 통해 부모공동양육의 삼각화는 적게 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 결혼만족도는 어머니의 문 닫기 역할을 통해서만 갈등에 간접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 어머니의 결혼만족도가 높을수록 어머니의 문 닫기 역할은 덜 나타났고, 이를 통해 부모공동양육의 갈등은 적게 나타났다. 요약하면, 어머니의 문 닫기 역할 및 문 열기 역할은 어머니의 결혼만족도와 협력을 부분매개 하였으나, 어머니의 문 닫기 역할은 어머니의 결혼만족도와 삼각화 및 갈등을 완전매개 하였다. 본 연구는 어머니의 문지기 역할을 문 닫기 역할 및 문 열기 역할을 함께 고려하여 부모공동양육(협력, 삼각화, 갈등)의 각 하위요인에 미치는 영향에 대해 살펴보았다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 본 연구는 첫 자녀가 유아기인 부모에게 어머니의 결혼만족도에 대한 중요성을 인식시킬 수 있고, 어머니의 문 닫기 역할과 문 열기 역할의 매개효과를 각각 확인함으로써 부모공동양육을 증진시키기 위한 방안을 찾을 수 있는 기초자료로 활용되리라 기대해본다.
