북한 『조선말대사전』 자본주의 경제용어의 특징 분석

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 북한에서 2017년에 발행한 『조선말대사전』 문헌에서 자본주의 경제용어의 특징을 분석하고자 함이다. 이 글에서 말하는 자본주의 경제용어는 사전에서 뜻풀이에 《경제》라는 표시가 있는 올림말 가운데 자본주의를 언급한 경우를 말한다. 자본주의 경제용어의 뜻풀이를 분석하여 북한 당국이 설명하는 자본주의 경제용어의 내용에는 어떤 특징이 있는지 알아보고자 한다. 북한 사전편찬리론에서는 사전의 기능 중 하나로 ‘인식교양적 기능’을 제시하였다. 인식교양적 기능은 북한 당국이 대중에게 ‘정치사상성’을 담보하는 내용으로 교육하고 교양한다는 뜻이다. 북한 사전의 인식교양적 기능에 주목하여, 사전을 통해 북한 당국의 인식을 추론하는 한 단계로 연구를 시도하였다. 연구 방법으로는 내용 분석을 선택하였다. 자본주의 경제용어를 수집하여 뜻풀이에 담긴 정보의 종류에 따라 내용 분석을 시도하고, 양적으로 어느 종류의 정보가 얼마나 실렸는지 분석함과 동시에 질적으로 올림말 뜻풀이에 담긴 의도와 메시지가 무엇인지 파악하고자 한다. 뜻풀이에 나타난 정보의 종류에 따라 개념 정보가 나타난 경우, 기능 정보가 나타난 경우로 나누었다. 두 항목에서 다시 올림말의 내용과 형식이 유사한 점에 따라 세분화 하였다. 내용 분석 결과, 북한 사전에 실린 자본주의 경제용어에서 정보 전달, 관점 제시, 사회주의 선전이라는 세 가지 특징을 발견하였다. 첫째, 정보 전달은 자본주의 경제에 관한 다양한 정보를 소개한 점을 말한다. 개념 정보, 기능 정보에서 전반적으로 용어 자체의 의미와 쓰임새, 배경 등에 집중하였다. 둘째, 관점 제시는 뜻풀이에 북한 당국의 입장과 이해를 반영한 부가 설명이 추가된 경우를 의미한다. 특정 현상을 자본주의 사회의 전형적인 현상이라고 일반화하는 사례와 수식하는 말을 통해 비판하는 입장을 드러낸 사례가 있다. 셋째, 사회주의와 자본주의를 비교, 대조하면서 사회주의의 좋은 면모를 부각한 내용이 있었다. 사회주의 선전은 기능 정보 중 비교 대조 분류 항목에서 나타나는 특징이다. 세 가지 특징 가운데 특정한 관점을 드러낸 경우보다 정보 자체를 전달하고자 하는 정보 전달의 비중이 가장 높았다. 자본주의 경제용어의 뜻풀이에 북한 사전에서 정의한 자본주의 개념이 드러나는 경우도 있었다. 북한 사전에서 말하는 자본주의 개념은 생산 수단 소유 여부에 따른 착취 관계로 나타난다. 하지만 자본주의 개념을 논의하는 경우보다 올림말의 정보 자체를 전달하는 사례가 더 많은 비중을 차지하였다. 사전은 인식교양적 기능을 실현하는 것 외에도 원래 정보 전달이 목적인 매체이기 때문에 정보 전달을 위한 올림말이 가장 많이 나온 점은 자연스러운 결과이다. 북한 당국이 정보를 전달할 때 자본주의 개념을 확고히 하는 면보다 새로운 정보 그 자체를 전달하고자 하는 경우가 더 많이 나타났다는 특징을 발견하였다.;The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of Economic Terminology for Capitalism(ETC) through the ‘Grand Dictionary of Korean’ published by North Korea in 2017. In terms of ETC, it refers to some words that are defined with the term, capitalism, within economic terminology. When the Grand Dictionary of Korean marks economic terminology, it uses the double arrow brackets in front of the definition. By analyzing ETC, its features of the meanings and contents will be explained. The North’s theory of dictionary compilation suggested “cognitive and cultured function” as one of the dictionary functions. The cognitive and cultural function means that the North Korean authorities aim to educate the public with the formulaic political idea. Noting the cognitive function of the North Korean dictionary, this study is attempted as a step to infer the perception of the North Korean authorities through the dictionary. For the research, content analysis is a suitable method for this study. After collecting ETC, the types of information will be categorized by its similar characteristics to analyze the contents. It attempts to analyze how much information is contained quantitatively, and at the same time grasps the intentions and messages contained qualitatively. By the types of information, Conceptual Information(CI) and Functional Information(FI) were divided into those that appeared according to the types of information presented in the definition. The two items were again subdivided by similarities in the contents and format of the headwords. The analysis found three characteristics: information delivery, perspective presentation and socialist propaganda in the ETC through the dictionary. First, information delivery refers to the introduction of various information on the capitalistic economy. CI and FI generally focused on the meaning, usage, background, etc of the term itself. Second, the suggestion of a point of view is an additional explanation that reflects the North Korean authorities' position and understanding. There are cases of generalizing a particular phenomenon as a typical phenomenon in a capitalistic society and of criticizing it using a modifier. Third, there was a comparison and contrast between socialism and capitalism, highlighting the good side of socialism. Socialistic propaganda is a feature that appears in the comparative contrast classification category among FI. Among the three characteristics, the portion of information delivery that intended to convey the information itself was the highest, rather than the case in which it revealed a particular point of view. In some cases, ETC revealed the concept of capitalism as defined in the North Korean dictionary. The concept of capitalism in the North Korean dictionary appears to be the exploitation by the relationship between the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. However, there were more examples of conveying information than discussing the concept of capitalism. In addition to realizing cognitive function, it is natural that most of the cases were information delivery because the dictionary is a medium that is originally intended to deliver information. It found that North Korean authorities were trying to convey new information in itself than solidifying the concept of capitalism through the dictionary.
