Rameau's 『Suite en la Gavotte et six Doubles』, L. V. Beethoven's 『Piano Sonata No.26 in E-flat Major, Op.81a』, R. Schumann's 『Kinderszenen, Op.15』, and C. A. Debussy's 『Suite Bergamasque』. Jean-Phillip Rameau (1683-1764) is one of leading French composers who reflects his uniqueness in his musical works without breaking the traditional style. Rameau’s 『Suite en la Gavotte et six Doubles』, composed in 1729-30, is included in the Volume 3 among the four volumes of 「Pieces de Clavecin」. Rameau’s 『Suite en la Gavotte et six Doubles』 consists of a lyrical theme and six variations. The theme is in a two-part form, and the six variations show decorative figurations and rhythmic variations. Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) is a German composer who is placed between the end of the Classicalism and the beginning of Romanticism. Beethoven's 『Piano Sonata No.26 in E-flat Major, Op.81a』 is a sonata in the middle period, composed in 1809-10. The unique feature of the piano sonata is that Beethoven added the subtitles "Lebewohl", "Abwesenheit" and "Wiedersehen" for each movement with each title linked to the atmosphere of the movement. The 1st movement is in a sonata form in which the Lebewohl motive consistently appears in the entire movement, and the 2nd movement, written in a two-part form, is linked to the 3rd movement. The 3rd movement is cast in a sonata form. Robert Schumann (1810-1856) is one of the representative composers of the Romantic era, combining literature and music in his piano works. Schumann's 『Kinderszenen, Op.15』, composed in 1838, consists of 13 pieces. Most of them are in the form of two or three parts, with the tenth piece in A-A′-Codetta and the eleventh in a rondo type. Each piece has a descriptive title, which was added after the work was completed. Claude Achille Debussy (1862-1918) is one of the representative composers of the 20th-century French Impressionist music. 『Suite Bergamasque』, composed in 1890, is considered as one of Debussy's early piano works. The work consists of four pieces, ,, , and . Each movement of the 『Suite Bergamasque』 is composed in a compound three-part form.
