- Abstract
- This thesis is a program annotation of by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), by Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827), by Frédéric François Chopin (1810-1849), and by Sergei Prokofiev (1891-1953), which were performed in the author’s graduation recital for the master degree.
J. S. Bach, a representative composer of the Baroque era, used all the musical genres and styles of the time, except for opera. For instrumental music, he composed a number of works for keyboard instruments. Among these, Clavier-Übung Volume 1 consists of 6 Partitas for harpsichord. In particular, the reveals general characteristics of dance movements, and this Partita unusually ends with Capriccio, instead of Gigue, which is normally the final dance movement in a suite.
L. v. Beethoven, a composer who represents the Classical music, maximized the potentials of the genre, piano sonatas. He composed 32 piano sonatas; is one of his late sonatas, consists of three movement. In the 3rd movement, Beethoven uses a theme and variations and fugue techniques which are the main characteristic of Beethoven's late piano sonatas. With the development of pianos, Beethoven also makes use of a long trills and a wide range of sounds as attempts of musically diverse expressions and techniques.
F. Chopin, a composer of the 19th-century Romanticism in music, introduced ballade in piano music for the first time in the 19th-century Romantic music. The last of his four ballads, , is characterized by a song-like melody. In addition, Chopin uses brilliant passages and a variety of tone colors when the thematic elements are transformed and developed.
S. Prokofiev, a Russian composer of the 20th-century, wrote eight piano sonatas in total. is one of three War Sonatas. In the sonata, Prokofiev transforms a series of thematic motives into various forms within a framework of traditional sonata structure. Also, it includes a unique usage of indications such as secco and quasi timpani and repeated dissonant chords in syncopation for percussion effects.;본 논문은 필자의 석사 졸업 연주회 프로그램 곡목인 요한 세바스찬 바흐(Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750)의 <파르티타 2번 c단조(Partita No. 2 in c minor BWV 826)>, (Piano Sonata No. 30 in E Major) Op. 109>, (Ballade No. 4 in f minor) Op. 52> 그리고 세르게이 프로코피에프(Sergei Prokofiev, 1891-1953)의 <피아노 소나타 7번 B♭장조(Piano Sonata No. 7 in B♭Major) Op. 83>에 대한 작품해설이다.
