고유색의 변환과 특유한 감성

Abstract

본인은 일상 속 어떤 대상을 통해 특유한 감성을 느끼게 된다. 특유한 감성이란 두 가지 혹은 여러 감정들이 교차하는 복잡하고 모호한 정서 상태라 할 수 있다. 처음에 대상을 인지하게 되는 순간 대상으로부터 감성을 전달받게 되고 이 감성을 통해서 다시 한번 대상을 보게 되면서 겪게 되는 과정으로서 시간차를 두고 하나의 대상을 바라보면서 생겨나는 복잡하고 혼란스러운 감정이 교차하는 상태를 말한다. 이러한 과정은 순간 일어나기도 하고 하루라는 시차를 겪으면서 생겨나기도 하며 몇 년에 걸쳐 나타나기도 한다. 이는 처음에 아름답게만 느껴지던 풍경이 순간 다시 보게 되면서 이전과 달리 뭉클하게 다가올 때 혹은 포근하고 따뜻하기만 했던 공간이 몇 년 사이에 걸쳐 섭섭하고 서글픈 감정이 들게 하는 공간이 될 때로 설명될 수 있다. 본인은 인간의 인지 심리를 통해 인지와 감정이 상호작용을 하며 인지에 의해 감정이 생기고 감정에 의해 인지가 달라진다는 것을 알게 되면서 하나의 대상을 두고 시간차로 느껴지는 여러 가지의 복잡하고 모호한 감성을 화면 안에 나타내보고자 하였다. 그러나 대상의 고유색 그대로를 쓰려고 하니 하나의 감성 또는 현재의 감성에만 머무르게 되어 여러 가지의 교차되면서 생겨나는 복잡하고 모호한 감성을 화면에 나타내기 어려웠다. 그래서 대상의 고유색을 변환시키게 되었고 여러 가지 감성이 하나의 화면에 교차되는 게 가능해졌으며 이때부터 사실적인 재현이 점차적으로 추상적인 성향의 작업으로 나아가게 되었다. 하나의 화면 속에 다양한 감성들을 교차시키는 것은 색들의 관계에 의한 특징적인 이미지를 형성하는 것인데 일반적인 채색 방법으로는 다양한 감성들을 시지각적으로 이끌어내기 어렵다고 판단하게 되어 새로운 발색과 질감에 대한 연구를 진행하게 되었다. 그리하여 다양한 안료와 교에 조합에 따라 달라지는 색과 표면 질감 연구를 통해 발묵과 비슷하지만 안료가 잘 안착되지 않은 듯한 새로운 발색과 질감을 찾아내게 되었다. 이 채색 방법은 발색과 질감이 화면 안에 두드러지게 나타나는 특징을 가지고 있어 화면 안에 다양한 감성들을 시지각적으로 담아내며 안료의 물성적인 힘을 부각시킬 수 있었다. 이를 통해 사실적인 형상의 표현은 최소화되고 색이 화면에 전면적으로 나타나게 되면서 본인의 특유한 감성을 화면 안에 담아낼 수 있었다. 정리하면 한 대상을 두고 다양한 시간대별로 경험하게 되는 여러 가지의 교차되는 복잡하고 모호한 감성들을 하나의 화면 안에 시각적으로 담아내고자 다각적인 실험을 했으며 그 과정 안에서 본인만의 특징적인 화면 전개와 채색방법에 대한 방법론을 정립한 것이 본 논문의 의의라 할 수 있다. ;I feel a unique emotion through the object in daily life. Unique emotions are complex and ambiguous emotional states where two or more emotions intersect. Emotions arise when you first look at the object and you feel complicated emotions when you look at it again. This process can be momentary or happen in days or years. It is state that feelings towards one thing can be various and complex based on the timeframe the object was seen. For example, one landscape that was initially seen beautiful can later be viewed sad. I believe cognition and emotions interact in human cognitive psychology and the emotions are generated by cognition and cognition is changed by emotions. I tried to capture the complex and ambiguous emotions felt in different times. However, it was difficult to show the complex emotions in the painting using the original colors of the object. From this point, I decided to convert the unique colors of the object. I was able to capture various emotions and nuances in the painting and the realistic aspects gradually became abstract. Using various emotions in the painting is to draw a unique image but it was difficult to do so with the existing coloring method. Therefore, I started my study on new coloring and texturing methods. Studying the color and surface texture of various pigments combinations, I found new colors and textures that are like ink stains. This coloring method has the characteristic that the color and texture are prominently shown in the painting and allows to highlight the texture variation in the painting. The realistic expression of the object was minimal, but the colors were dominant, capturing the unique emotions in the painting. Experiments were conducted during the study to visually capture complicated emotions in different time periods. In doing so, my own coloring method and unique scene development were established as purpose of this paper.
