시간의 끝(죽음)을 향한 여정

Abstract

본 논문은 죽음에 대한 불안으로 시작하여 죽음이 늘 함께 있다는 사실과 그러한 사실을 수용하는 연구자의 자세가 긍정적으로 변화하는 과정 대한 논고이다. 인간의 삶은 유한하며 삶의 여정의 끝은 죽음이라는 공통된 종착점을 갖는다. 인간에게 죽음은 무의식 속에 불안과 고독을 동반하며 자신의 생에 대한 애착과 허무의 이중적 구조를 갖게 한다. 이러한 이중적 구조를 존재론적 관점에서 접근해보고, 이를 바탕으로 죽음을 대하는 연구자의 태도 변화를 작업과 연결하여 표현하고자 한다. 이를 통해 죽음은 어쩔 수 없는 숙명임을 깨닫게 한다. 연구자는 삶과 죽음을 ‘삶 없이는 죽음을 설명할 수 없고 죽음 없이는 삶을 설명할 수 없는 동일한 것’으로 바라본다. 이렇게 삶과 죽음을 바라봄으로써 현재의 삶에 충실하게 최선을 다해서 사는 것이 죽음으로 가는 여정의 길이며, 삶의 길이라 생각한다. 작품의 이론적 개념은 바니타스(Vanitas)의 개념과 하이데거의 죽음에 대한 사유를 바탕으로 하여, 우리는 죽음을 부인할 수 없으며 이것이 숙명임을 받아들여야 하는 근거를 찾아보고자 하였다. 또한, 일상에서 만날 수 있는 사물(제기, 수의, 골호)과 음식(라면, 버터, 케이크)에 인간의 삶과 죽음을 대입시키고 그 변하기 쉬운 사물의 속성과 인간의 유한성을 결합시키는 방식으로 작업을 진행하였다. 본 연구를 통해 사물과 인간의 유한함의 결합은 사물의 일반적인 기능이나 의미를 은유적으로 대입시켜 전환하는 방식으로 인간존재의 유한한 삶(죽음)을 나타내고 이를 통해 죽음을 긍정적으로 대하는 연구자의 변화된 태도를 탐구하고자 한다. 연구자에게 본 논문은 끊임없이 변화하는 현재의 시간 속에 죽음이 동행하는 것을 인식하게 하고, 주어진 유한한 시간 속에서 나의 존재 가치를 위해 주어진 삶을 후회 없이 살아가고자 하는 역능을 불러일으켜 주었다는 데에 의의를 두고자 한다.;This paper starts with anxiety about death and discusses the fact that death is always present and the process of positively changing the attitudes of researchers who accept it. Human life is finite and the end of life's journey has a common end point of death. For human beings, death is accompanied by anxiety and loneliness in the unconscious, and has a dual structure of attachment and vanity to one's life. This dual structure is approached from an ontological perspective, and based on this, the attitude change of a researcher dealing with death is expressed in connection with work. This leads to the realization that death is an inevitable fate. The researchers view life and death as "the same thing that cannot explain death without life and cannot explain life without death." Looking at life and death like this, living faithfully in the present life, doing the best, is the way to death and the way of life. The theoretical concept of the work is based on the concept of Vanitas and the reason for Heidegger's death, and we tried to find the grounds for accepting that it is undeniable and fate. It also works by incorporating human life and death into objects (utensils used in ancestral rites(Jegi), veterinary, cinerary urn) and food (ramen, butter, cake) that can be encountered in everyday life and by combining the properties of those variable objects with human finiteness. Proceeded. Through this study, the combination of the finiteness of objects and human beings represents the finite life (death) of human beings by metaphorically converting and converting the general functions or meanings of things, and thus the changed attitude of the researcher who treats death positively. For the researcher, this paper was made to recognize that death accompanies the present, ever-changing time, and to evoke the ability to live a life without regret for my worth in a given finite time.
