Francis Poulenc의 《Sonate pour violon et piano》 분석연구

Abstract

20세기 프랑스 작곡가인 프랑시스 플랑(Francis Jean Marcel Poulenc, 1899-1963)은 에릭 사티(Erik Satie, 1866-1925)의 영향을 많이 받아 복잡하지 않은 간결한 음악을 추구하였다. 이후 그는 이고르 스트라빈스키(Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky, 1882-1971)의 음악과 프랑스 6인조 활동의 영향을 받아 신고전주의적 특징을 나타내게 된다. 신고전주의는 제1차 세계대전과 제2차 세계대전 사이에 유행하였으며 바로크와 고전시대의 양식을 사용하여 표현주의나 인상주의에 반발하는 절대음악 사상을 추구한 사조다. 플랑의 작품《Sonate pour violon et piano》는 1943년에 완성된 것으로 플랑이 제2차 세계대전 중에 영감을 받아 작곡하였으며 전쟁의 잔혹함, 전쟁에 폐허가 된 조국에 대한 상실감이나 슬픔을 나타낸다. 이 곡은 소나타라는 전통적 형식을 따르며 신고전주의적인 양식을 보인다. 제1악장은 제시부-발전부-재현부의 소나타 구조를 갖추고 자유롭게 변형된 모습을 보인다. 제2악장은 스페인 시인 가르시아 로르카(Federico García Lorca, 1899-1936)를 추모하기 위해 작곡되었으며, 그의 시가 표제로 붙게 된다. 또한 A-B-A'의 구조를 지니며 시에 나오는 기타와 흡사한 연주법 또는 음색이 나타난다. 제3악장은 크게 A-A'의 형식으로 한 악장 내에서 주제선율을 효율적으로 활용한 것을 볼 수 있다. 카덴차를 제1악장 주제선율의 리듬에서 착안한 점을 통하여 이 작품이 순환형식의 소나타임을 알 수 있다. 이 소나타의 분석을 통해 명확한 조성감이나 뚜렷한 종지와 같은 전통적 특색을 발견하는 동시에 불협화음이나 반음계 진행이 빈번하게 나타남을 알 수 있다. 이런 특징을 지닌 플랑의《Sonate pour violon et piano》는 신고전주의 양식을 지닌 20세기의 대표적 작품 중 하나이다.;Francis Jean Marcel Poulenc(1899-1963), a 20th century French composer, pursued sensual and concise music from his early stage of composition under the influence of Erik Satie(1866-1925). After then, Poulenc's music exhibited neoclassical characteristics because he was influenced by Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky(1882-1971) and had an experience as a member of‘Les Six'. Neoclassicism prevailed between World War I and World War II, and accommodated Baroque and Classical styles. It pursued absolute music in response to Expressionism and Impressionism. Poulenc's work《Sonate pour violon et piano》is started to be composed in the period of World War II and finished in 1943. He was inspired by World War II, therefore in this work we can find his sense of loss and sadness because of a cruelty of a war and ruined motherland. This work is in Classical sonata form consisting 3 movements. The first movement, though it is freely transformed, has a exposition-development-recapitulation structure. The second movement is composed to be dedicated to Spanish poet Federico Garcia Lorca(1899-1936), and titled by his poems "La guitare fait pleurer les songes”. Also it is in ‘A-B-A’ form and appears playing style and timbre similar to a guitar which is a main word in Lorca's poem. The third movement is in ‘A-A’form and effectively use the main theme of the first movement. We can find this work has a cyclic sonata form because cadenza is motivated by the rhythm of the main theme of the first movement. Through the analysis of this sonata, classical characteristics such as a clear tonality and balanced structure can be found. At the same time dissonance and chromatic scale appear frequently. With these characteristics of Neo-classicism, Poulenc’s《Sonate pour violon et piano》became one of the most representative works of the 20th century.
