호러(Horror)시청 공포감이 시청즐거움에 미치는 영향

Abstract

호러물은 오늘날 사람들에게 생활 및 심리적인 스트레스를 풀어주는 경로가 되어 흥미로운 장르 중의 하나가 되었으며 이러한 이유로 호러물을 소비하는 사람들이 또한 증가하고 있다. 하지만 반면 호러물을 시청하면서 긍정적인 즐거움을 얻은 것보다 공포감과 같은 부정적인 정서가 함께 수반된다. 이에 본 연구는 호러 시청 중 형성되는 공포감과 즐거움 모순적인 감정에 초점을 두고 그의 형성 원인을 밝히고자 한다. 본 연구는 최근 2년간 호러물 시청 경험이 있는 자에 한해 설문 조사를 실시하였다. 연구가설과 연구문제를 검증하기 위해 위계적 회귀분석과 프로세스를 실시하였으며 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 호러시청 몰입과 공포감 간의 관계를 살펴보았을 때 연구 결과로 호러 시청시 수용자의 몰입은 공포감에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 공포감과 즐거움 간의 관계는 즐거움의 요인분석 결과를 살펴보면, 향락적 즐거움, 감상적 즐거움, 안도적 즐거움 세 가지 요인이 추출되었다. 호러 시청시 느끼는 공포감은 향락적 즐거움의 형성에 부정적인 영향을 미치지만 감상적 즐거움의 형성에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. 호러 시청시 느끼는 공포감은 안도적 즐거움에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는다. 마지막으로는 심리적 거리감은 호러시청 형성된 공포감이 즐거움 형성에 미치는 영향에 매개효과의 검증이다. 공포감과 향락적 즐거움의 관계에서 그리고 공포감과 감상적 즐거움의 관계에서 심리적 거리감의 매개 효과를 확인되지 않았다. 그러나 심리적 거리감은 공포감과 안도적 즐거움 사이에서 완전매개 역할을 하는 것으로 확인되었다. 공포감이 안도적 즐거움에 직접적으로 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못하지만 심리적 거리감을 통해야만 안도적 즐거움에 긍정적인 효과를 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 호러 장르에 관한 수용자 관점에 대한 실증연구이기에 호러물 수용자들의 심리를 규명하는데 의의가 있다. 또한 본 연구는 호러물 시청에 있어서 시청자들의 공포감과 즐거움의 형성, 특히 공포감과 즐거움 간의 관계를 충심으로 연구하였다. 호러 연구 분야의 일부 공백을 메웠으며 앞으로 호러장르의 발전에 도움이 될 수 다. 그 외에 본 연구에서 호러시청의 즐거움을 향락적 즐거움, 감상적 즐거움, 안도적 즐거움 세 가지 요인으로 도출하여 공포감과의 관계를 나누어서 살펴보았다. 호러시청 공포감과 세분화된 즐거움 간의 재미있는 관계를 발견하는 데에 의미가 있다. 더불어 호러물 시청 중 발생하는 공포감이 즐거움으로 전환되는 과정에 대한 실증적인 해석을 숭고미로 설명하는 새로운 시도에 의의를 둔다. ;Horror has become one of the most exciting genres for people today as it is a way to release psychological stress in daily life. Because of this more and more people begin to consume horror movies and TV series. It is accompanied by negative emotions such as fear, rather than by positive enjoyment while watching horror movies as usual. This study focuses on the fright reactions and enjoyment, two contradictory emotions that form while watching horror, and tries to identify the cause of fright reactions and enjoyment and their relationship during horror viewing. To inquiry the purpose of this study, this study surveyed 288 horror viewers from China who have experience watching horror movies or dramas over the past two years. Hierarchical regression and Process were conducted to verify the hypotheses and the research questions. As for the results, first, for the relationship between transportation and fright reactions, transportation has a positive effect on fright reactions. Second, for the relationship between fright reaction and enjoyment, looking at the results of factor analysis of enjoyment, three factors were extracted: hedonistic enjoyment, appreciative enjoyment and relieved enjoyment. Fright reactions in watching horror has a negative effect on the formation of hedonistic enjoyment, but has a positive effect on the formation of appreciative enjoyment. And the fright reaction during watching horror doesn't have a significant impact on relieved enjoyment. Finally, the mediated effects of psychological distance have not been verified in the relationship of fright reaction and hedonistic enjoyment, and in the relationship of fright reaction and appreciative enjoyments. But psychological distance have been confirmed to have a full mediating effect between fright reaction and relieved enjoyment. Although fright reaction does not directly have a significant effect on relieved enjoyment, only through psychological distinctions has a positive effect on relieved enjoyment. Since this study is an empirical study of the viewer's point of the horror genre, it is relevant to establish the psychology reactions of horror viewers. This study also studied the cause of the viewer's fright reaction and enjoyment in watching horror, especially the relationship between fright reaction and enjoyment. It has filled some gaps in the field of horror research and can help develop horror genre in the future. In addition, in this study, enjoyment was derived from three factors: hedonistic pleasure, appreciative enjoyment, and relieved enjoyment, and analyse the relationship with fright reaction separately. It is also meaningful in discovering the interesting relationship between horror and subdivided enjoyment. More importantly, it is meaningful in a new attempt to explain the empirical interpretation of the process of turning fright reaction into enjoyment while watching horror.
