SSI 수업을 통한 예비과학교사들의 의사결정 시 가치, 도덕적 민감성, 도덕적 행동의 변화

Abstract

과학기술의 발달로 사회가 변화함에 따라 발생할 수 있는 과학기술의 사회, 윤리적 문제들(SSI)이 대두되고 있다. 최근에 과학교육에서는 학생들의 도덕성 발달을 목표로 SSI 교육의 중요성을 인식하였고, 학교 현장에 SSI 수업을 적용하고 있다. SSI 수업을 통해서 학생들은 도덕적인 의사결정을 할 수 있어 도덕성 발달에 도움이 된다. 도덕적 판단에서 그치는 것이 아니라 도덕적 행동으로 실천되는 것이 중요하다. 그러므로 효과적인 SSI 수업을 위해서는 이를 진행할 예비교사들이 SSI 수업을 통해서 도덕적 행동의 실천을 직접 경험해볼 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 SSI 수업을 통해 예비과학교사들이 의사결정 시 사용하는 가치와 도덕적 민감성, 행동의 변화를 알아보았다. 이를 위해서 예비과학교사들에게 SSI 수업을 적용하여 토론 전과 토론 후에 논제에 따른 개인별 사전 글쓰기와 사후글쓰기를 진행하였다. 이후 수업을 들은 예비과학교사들 중 8명을 선정하고 면담을 진행하여 자료를 수집하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 논제에 따라 적용한 가치는 달랐지만 SSI 수업을 통해서 예비과학교사들은 의사결정을 할 때 다양한 가치를 고려할 수 있게 되었다. 둘째, SSI 수업 후 8명 중 3명의 예비과학교사들의 도덕적 민감성이 증가되었다. 즉, SSI 수업은 예비과학교사들의 도덕적 민감성 향상에 효과가 있었다. 셋째, SSI 수업을 통해 예비과학교사들은 도덕적 의사결정을 할 수 있었고, 수업 후 도덕적 민감성이 증가한 3명 중 2명이 도덕적 행동으로 이어졌다. 따라서 학생들의 도덕적 행동을 유도하기 위해서는 도덕적으로 상황을 민감하게 바라볼 수 있고, 도덕적 의사결정 능력을 길러줄 수 있는 SSI 교육의 개발과 적용이 필요하다. ;As the society changes by scientific technology development, Socioscientific Issues turn up. Recently, scientific education takes aim of moral development and recognizes the importance of SSI classes and then applies them to schools. Because SSI classes can teach reasonable decision-making, pre-scientific teachers play an important part more than ever before in SSI classes. But there was no such study before about the moral behavior in order to develop morality. Accordingly, this study examined the changes of values, moral sensitivity, and moral behavior in decision-making through SSI classes. For the purpose, this study applied SSI classes to pre-scientific teachers and then proceed pre-writing and post-writing by the topic of pre-discussion and post-discussion. Thereafter this study selected eight pre-scientific teachers and interviewed them to collect research material. The conclusion of this study as follows: First, values applied to the topics differ but pre-scientific teachers can consider various values in decision-making through SSI classes. Second, SSI classes have the effect on improvement of moral sensitivity in pre-scientific teachers. That is, three of eight pre-scientific teachers showed the increase of moral sensitivity. Third, two of three increased moral sensitivity showed moral behavior. For the purpose of leading the moral behaviors of students, this study stresses the necessity to develop and apply SSI classes which improve moral sensitivity.
