무용작품 「너, 나」에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 2017년 12월 7일 이화여자대학교 홀 1에서 발표한 본 연구자의 무용작품 「너, 나」를 안무함으로써, 성취하고자 하는 목표부터 작업의 전반적인 과정과 결과에 대해 구체적으로 분석하고 연구한 논문이다. 이에 따라 논문의 전체적 구성을 안무 의도, 개념적 배경, 예술적 구성으로 나누었으며, 그중에서도 특히 작품 「너, 나」의 주제의식이 무대를 구성하는 요소 즉 움직임, 음악, 조명, 오브제를 통해 형상화되는 과정을 집중적으로 기술하고자 하였다. 본 무용작품의 안무 의도는 다음과 같다. 본 연구의 바탕이 되는 ‘사랑’은 인간 본성에 위치한 보편적인 감정으로 인간을 더욱 인간답게 하며 삶을 풍요롭게 해준다. 그러나 사랑은 현대사회에서 본질과 가치를 잃어감에 따라 그 형태가 왜곡되며 진정성을 잃어가고 있다. 이와 같은 문제점을 직시하고 비판한 철학자 알랭 바디우는 저서 『사랑 예찬』을 통해 사랑의 구축 개념을 제시하며 진정한 사랑을 영위하는 방법을 제안하였다. 이에 본 연구자는 사랑의 구축인 ‘사건’, ‘사건의 지속’, ‘진리의 생산’을 반영하여 무용작품 「너, 나」를 안무하였으며 이를 통해 현대인들의 사랑이 진실한 지향점을 찾아 나아갈 수 있음을 말하고자 하였다. 이에 따른 안무는 다음과 같이 표현되었다. ‘사건’은 사랑의 시작이며 두 주체의 만남을 상징하는 개념이다. 따라서 작품의 1장에서는 무용수인 ‘나’와 오브제인 ‘너’를 설정하여 만남의 순간들에 나타나는 행동을 형상화하고 움직임으로 표현하였다. 더불어 만남의 다양성을 표현하기 위해 오브제의 색깔과 배치를 다르게 하여 나타냈으며, 조명과 음악을 통해 사랑의 따뜻한 분위기를 연출할 수 있도록 하였다. ‘사건의 지속’은 만남이 지속함에 따라 전개되는 일종의 과정으로, 두 주체의 차이로 인한 시련과 고통을 드러낸다. 따라서 2장에서는 강한 호흡을 통해 온몸을 확장하는 움직임과 오브제를 들어 옮기거나 밟고 일어서는 표현을 위주로 나타냄으로써 갈등과 대립의 이미지를 구현할 수 있도록 하였다. ‘진리의 생산’은 앞서 발생한 문제들을 극복하고 이겨내며, 둘만의 세계를 생산하기 위해 앞으로 나아가는 것이다. 따라서 3장에서는 갈등의 극복을 통한 진정한 사랑의 실현으로 나아가는 모습을 나타냈으며 이를 위해 특히 강한 의지를 상징하는 움직임 구성과 음악적 요소에 힘을 실어 표현하였다. 결과적으로, 본 연구자는 현대의 사랑이 직면한 문제를 통찰하기 위해 알랭 바디우가 제시한 사랑 개념을 근거로 하여 무용작품 「너, 나」를 안무하였으며, 이 작품을 통해 진정한 사랑의 실천 가능성을 모색하였다. 또한 작업의 방법과 과정을 구체적으로 분석함으로써 연구자 자신의 고유한 창작 방식을 발견하고 이를 논리적으로 설명할 수 있음에 연구의 의의를 두었다.;This thesis focuses on the analysis of the achievable goal and its thorough process and its result of the choreography 「You, me」 that was conducted in Hall 1 of Ewha Womans University in December 7th, 2017. The contents of the thesis were divided into the purpose of the choreography, theoretical background, and aesthetic composition, especially focusing on how an object, movement, music and lighting contributes to the formulation and projection of the theme of the choreography, 「You, me」. The purpose of the choreography is stated as follows: The feeling of “love”, which the thesis focuses, is the fundamental feeling that is closest to human nature making the life of human more humane and bountiful. However, as modern society starts to lose its nature and value, the form and authenticity of “love” started to become diluted and distorted. By acknowledging this distortion of love, the philosopher Alain Badiou suggested a leading way to the acquisition of true love by constructing the notion of love through his writing, 『In Praise of Love』. From the inspiration of Alain Badiou, the choreography 「You, me」 applies the three stages that Alain Badiou suggests for the construction of love: encounter, on-going construction and construction of truth. The creation of choreography was to guide modern people towards to the achievement of authentic love. “Encounter” is the start of love and its notion symbolizes the connection of the two entity. Therefore, in the first act of the choreography, the choreographer is represented as “me” and an object is set as “you” to portray the encountering moments of the two entities. The encountering moments are shaped with the movement and actions of the choreographer, and to express the diversified encounters, the colors and arrangement of the objects were dissimilar on the stage. The lighting and music were used to express the warming and affectionate ambience of love. “On-going construction” is the continuous process of encounter that reveals hardships and torments of the two entities. Therefore, in the second act of the choreography, fierce breathing with expansion of the body movement in addition to the reorganization of the objects on the stage were conducted to express the confrontations and conflicts. The choreographer by standing on the objects also contributes to the expression of the conflicts and confrontation of the two entities. “Construction of truth” is the stage where the two entities solve their conflicts and create their own world. Therefore, in the third act of the choreography, movements that resemble strong will were conducted and musical elements were added to express the strong will towards authentic love and its practice. Consequently, the research was proposed to confront the problems of love in modern society and to propose an insight for the practice of authentic love through the choreography, 「You, me」. Through the thorough analysis of the creation of the choreography, the choreographer acknowledged genuine methods for creating a choreography and understood how to logically express the abstract concept of love and its construction.
