Purpose: This textbook is aimed to help Korean EFL students to develop English skills by reading Aesop’s fables which contain interesting stories as well as moral lessons to be learned. This also allows the students to discover the joy of reading as well as the sense of accomplishment of reading an entire book in English, which is not a common thread in the Korean EFL curriculum. Rationale: Students might feel less pressured to read Aesop’s fables in English since they are relatively short in length. The fables, however, feature familiar animal characters to catch the students’ attention and interests. This textbook not only increases students’ motivation but also fosters their moral judgment. Furthermore, students will improve the four skills of English as well as critical thinking skills through interactive and meaningful activities-
