;The purpose of the study is to propose a history lesson plan about the success process of Japanese ceramics that is on the important place in the history of world ceramics which is a reflection of human history. Japan is the world best advanced country of ceramics along with China and Europe. Since the success of white porcelain production in 1616, people do not know about the history of ceramics in Japan, which has produced high quality ceramics over 400 years, and it can be confirmed through textbooks. Along with China, the suzerain of ceramics, Japan is a leading country for the history of world ceramics. However, before the Japanese invasion of Korea, there was no ceramics technology and raw materials in Japan. The traditional view of how Japan has grown and made history of ceramics is limited to the explanation that through the Japanese Invasion of Korea which has called as the ceramics war, they could kidnap the potters and secure the source technology of the ceramics in Joseon, and through the chaotic situation of the Ming-Qing Dynasty replacement period, it was possible to export to Europe on behalf of China. This can be said a result of a partial analysis about the success process of Japanese ceramics. Due to the war, Japan could secure a source of advanced white porcelain technology, and further, by recognizing the importance of the pottery industry, they continued to make efforts to develop ceramics. Through the kidnapping of the Joseon potter, Japan could secure the ceramics technology, and in order to develop the ceramics technology, they let the Sam-pyeong Lee, who is a Korean potter find in Japan the kaolin which is the main material of ceramics. And, in 1616, Japanese did all the support for him for over 18 years, until Sam-pyeong Lee found kaolin on the Izumi Mountain in Arita, Japan. They also gave the grain, house and stipend to potters who moved from Joseon, they helped them to settle in Japan and provided them the opportunity to demonstrate their skills. In production, they break from the traditional method, and had sought change to mass production. Like this, after first ceramics production, they constantly improved the ceramics technology. In 1644, the Ming-Qing Dynasty replacement period, when ceramics of china which had been exported to Europe and left huge profits. And it was blocked by the confusion of the situation. That time, Japan caught the chance. The Dutch East India Company, which carried Chinese ceramics, they ordered the Chinese-styled white porcelain to Japan, which succeeded in producing porcelain on behalf of China. And Japan started ceramics export to Europe. Since then, because of the re-production of Chinese ceramics, the export of white porcelain was sharply reduced, but Japan took over the European market as a differentiating product from Chinese ceramics. Unlike traditional blue-and-white porcelain, it was a colored picture ceramics. And it created the only Japanese unique color by adding pigments such as red, yellow and green. In addition, in case of the shape of ceramics, it had been various as bowls, vases, candle holders, people dolls, animal dolls, and etc. While keeping the Japanese style, they figured out the taste of Europeans and exported the ceramics such as the elephant dolls which is an animal of imagination that they had never seen before. The Europeans were enthusiastic about Japanese ceramics, and they imported enormous quantities. Eventually, they imitated Japanese ceramics, not Chinese ceramics. This study focused on the history in general about ceramics in Japan, apart from the existing ceramics war-oriented viewpoint. And by studying the literature on how Japan has made efforts to develop the ceramics industry, and plan to develop a history lesson plan related to it. Understand the history and culture of East Asia in a broad sense, which is a goal of <East Asian History>, the revised high school curriculum in 2015, and by analyzing and utilizing data with various perspectives, cultivate historical thinking and historical consciousness. And it is for understanding the East Asian history with an integrated and balanced perspective, meeting the specific goals and content of raising the discernment to understand the characteristics of that area. Understanding and catching the success process of the correct Japanese ceramics through the lessons about the success factors of Japanese ceramics will be meaningful to let the next generation who preparing for the future have the integrated and balanced view.-
