Abstract

본 논문은 본인의 석사과정 졸업연주회의 프로그램인 세르게이 라흐마니노프 (Sergei Rachmaninoff, 1873-1943)의 『Six Songs, Op. 4』中 제 4곡 「Do not Sing, My Beauty」,『Twelve Songs, Op. 14』中 제 11곡 「Spring Waters」, 로버트 무진스키(Robert Muczynski, 1929-2010)의 『Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 14』, 프레드리히 쇼팽 (Frederic Chopin, 1810-1849)의 『Sonata for Piano and Cello in g minor, Op. 65』의 작품해설이다. 라흐마니노프는 낭만주의 성격을 가진 러시아의 작곡가이자 피아니스트이다. 그는 가곡을 작곡함에 있어 시의 운율과 러시아 언어를 음악적으로 표현하려하였다.『Six Songs, Op. 4』中 제 4곡 「Do not Sing, My Beauty」와『Twelve Songs, Op. 14』中 제 11곡 「Spring Waters」는 그의 초기가곡에 속하는 작품으로, 비교적 간결하지만 가사와 선율, 피아노가 잘 통합되어 있는 것이 특징이다. 무진스키는 20세기의 새로운 현대적 음악의 사조를 따르지 않고 신고전주의의 성격을 가진 미국의 작곡가이다. 작품『Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 14』은 총 네 악장의 고전적인 형식으로 구성되어 있지만, 현대적 리듬과 불협화음, 복조성, 재즈기법 등을 통해 무진스키만의 독창적이고 활기찬 특징들을 드러낸다. 쇼팽은 낭만주의 피아노 음악의 대가이며‘피아노의 시인’이라 일컬어진다. 낭만시대의 음악은 형식과 질서를 추구하는 고전시대 음악과는 달리, 작곡가의 개성과 감정을 중요시하고 형식면에서도 기존의 것에서 탈피하여 자유로움을 추구한다. 『Sonata for Piano and Cello In g minor, Op. 65』는 쇼팽의 후기 작품이며, 그의 단 네 곡의 실내악 작품 중 유일한 소나타이다. 네 악장으로 구성되어 있으며, 화려한 기교와 성악적 선율, 다채로운 화성의 낭만적 요소를 가지고 있다. ;This thesis presents an analysis of musical pieces performed on the author’s graduation recital:『Six Songs, Op. 4 No. 4, Do not Sing, My Beauty』and 『Twelve Songs, Op. 14 No. 11 Spring Waters』by Sergei Rachmaninoff(1873-1943), 『Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 14』by Robert Muczynski(1929-2010), and 『Sonata for Piano and Cello in g minor, Op.65』by Frederic Chopin(1810-1849). The this thesis aims to provide a better understanding of these musical works for performers. Rachmaninoff tried to capture the musical feelings and the atmosphere of the Russian language in his songs. His early songs “Do not Sing『Six Songs, Op. 4 No. 4, Do not Sing, My Beauty』 and 『Twelve Songs, Op. 14 No. 11 Spring Waters』are comparatively concise in length, but accompaniment are closely associated with the lyrics. Mucyznski is a 20th-century composer who pursued the Neoclassical musical style, instead of following more modern tendencies at the time. His unique musical style can be clearly seen in the use of modern rhythm, dissonances, bitonality, and jazz elements in 『Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 14』. Chopin is a leading composer of the Romantic era, also known as the poet of the piano. Music from this period moved away from the traditional Classical sonata form. Instead, composers put emphasis on the expression of their characters and emotions, and developed forms with much freedom. 『Sonata for Piano and Cello In g minor, Op. 65』 is his one and only instrumental sonata that was composed in his later years. It contains elements of a sonata form of the Romantic period. It is made up of four movements and has musical features attributed to the Romantic style, such as splendid techniques, vocal melodies, and colorful harmony.
