Abstract
A group of urologists and medical engineers have developed a variety of equipment that were designed to cover the demerits of the Transurethral resection (TUR) based on the concept of thermotherapy. Although many of these equipment have already become obsolete, the procedure using laser to ablate the prostate developed in the 1990s has been improved and has become well-known among urologists. To date, both operator and patient are all satisfied with the less invasive laser prostatectomy.
