Johannes Brahms의 Sonata for Cello and Piano in F Major Op.99에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문은 연구자의 석사과정 졸업연주 작품인 요하네스 브람스(Johannes Brahms, 1833-1897)의 Sonata for Cello and Piano in F Major Op.99를 연구하려고 한다. 브람스는 19세기 낭만시대에 활동한 대표적인 작곡가이다. 낭만시대 작곡가들은 개성이 뚜렷하고 이전의 형식적인 것보다 감정의 표현을 더 중요하게 생각했다. 하지만 브람스는 동시대의 작곡과들과 달리 형식과 질서를 우선시 했고 하이든, 모차르트, 베토벤으로부터 이어받은 고전시대의 형식에 기초한 음악들을 많이 작곡하였다. 또한 그는 전통적인 형식을 지키면서도 그 안에서 자신만의 독자적인 음악적 기법과 서정적인 감정들을 잘 녹여내었고 이러한 조화를 중요하게 여기는 신고전주의를 추구하였다. 이 작품도 총 4악장의 고전적인 소나타 형식의 틀을 준수하고 있으며 소나타 악장 형식의 1악장, 복합 3부 형식인 2, 3악장, 론도형식의 4악장으로 구성되어 있다. 내용적인 면에서는 브람스가 음악적으로 가장 원숙한 만년에 작곡한 만큼 다양한 리듬과 화성, 빈번한 전조, 반음계적 진행 사용, 특유의 서정적인 선율을 사용하는 등 고전음악과 낭만음악의 특징을 잘 결합하여 나타낸 곡으로 평가받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 브람스의 생애와 그의 음악적 특징 등에 입각하여 악장 별로 분석, 파악하고 곡의 이해를 돕는 것을 목적으로 한다. 그리고 브람스가 추구했던 신고전주의의 고전적인 음악의 형식과 낭만적인 음악의 요소의 조화가 구체적으로 어떻게 나타났는지 이 작품을 통해 연구하고자 한다. ;This thesis is going to research about a graduate performance program of the master's course of researcher that Sonata for Cello and Piano in F Major Op. 99 by Johannes Brahms(1833-1897). Brahms was a representative composer of The Romantic Age in 19th century. Composers from The Romantic period had a distinct personality and regarded expression of emotion as important. Unlike most composers of the same age, he took form and order first and composed a lot of musics based on Classical period followed by Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven. Also, he kept the traditional form and sought Neo-Classicism which has a harmony between his own musical technique and lyrical feelings. This music complies with the frame of a classical sonata form; four movements, and is formed by the first movement of a sonata form, second movements and third movements of compound ternary form, and forth movements of a rondo form. Because Brahms composed this music at his very mature latter years, it is estimated as a music combined with classical music and romantic music by using various rhythm and harmony, frequent modulation, chromatic scale, and lyrical melody. This thesis intends to make you analyze and understand Brahms’life and the feature of his music by all the movements. Moreover, We are going to study about harmony between classical form and romantic form of Neo-classicism through this music.
