가족응집성이 청소년의 분리-개별화에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 가족응집성과 청소년의 분리-개별화 간의 관계를 부모의 심리적 통제가 매개하는지를 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 전라남도에 소재한 고등학교 1학년 학생들 325명을 대상으로 하여 자기보고식 질문지 조사를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 가족응집성은 Olson 등(1985)이 개발한 가족응집력 척도(Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scales: FACES) 시리즈를 김수연(1998)이 한국 실정에 맞게 재구성한 것을 사용하였으며, 부모의 심리적 통제는 Soenens 등(2010)이 개발한 DAPCS(The Dependency–oriented and Achievement-oriented Psychological Control Scale)를 조은주(2012)가 번안한 것을 사용하였다. 청소년의 분리-개별화는 Levine, Green 과 Millon(1986)이 제작한 청소년용 분리-개별화 척도(Separation-Individuation Test for Adolescence: SITA)를 장근영과 윤진(1992)이 번안한 것을 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 21.0 프로그램을 사용하여 변인들 간의 상관관계를 산출하고, t검정 및 단순회귀분석, 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 연구문제에 따른 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 본 연구에서는 가족응집성과 청소년의 분리-개별화 간의 관계를 밝힐 수 있었으며, 그 과정에서 부모의 심리적 통제가 매개하는 것을 확인하였다. 부모의 심리적 통제는 전체 청소년의 가족응집성과 청소년의 분리-개별화의 하위요인 중 함입불안을 부분 매개하였고, 가족응집성과 청소년의 분리-개별화의 하위요인 중 분리불안을 완전 매개하였다. 즉, 가족응집성이 균형적일수록 부모의 심리적 통제가 줄어들며, 이로 인해 청소년의 분리-개별화가 긍정적으로 발달하는 것으로 나타났다. 청소년의 분리-개별화 문제를 하위요인 별로 성에 따른 차이를 살펴본 결과, 여자 청소년 부모의 심리적 통제는 가족응집성과 여자 청소년의 분리-개별화 하위요인 중 함입불안 간의 관계를 부분매개 하였고 가족응집성과 여자 청소년의 분리-개별화 하위 요인 중 분리불안 간의 관계를 완전매개 하였다. 한편, 남자 청소년 부모의 심리적 통제는 가족응집성과 남자 청소년의 분리-개별화 하위요인 중 함입불안 간의 관계만을 부분매개 하였고, 가족응집성과 남자 청소년의 분리-개별화 하위요인 중 분리불안 간의 관계는 유의하지 않아 매개 분석에서 제외하였다. 본 연구결과를 통해 상담 장면에서 청소년을 둘러싼 가족의 영향을 확인하고 청소년기 분리-개별화의 중요성을 이해할 수 있는 자료를 청소년 자녀를 둔 부모와 교사에게 제공할 수 있기를 기대한다.;The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of family cohesion, as perceived by high school students, and parental psychological control on adolescent’s separation-individuation. A total of 325 first grade high school students (165 Males and 160 Females) living in Junranamdo responded to questionnaires, which included items related to family cohesion, parental psychological control, and adolescent’s separation-individuation. The data was analyzed by t-test, correlation analysis and regression analysis with mediation effect. The primary results of this study were as follows: First, family cohesion was correlated with parental psychological control, and adolescent’s separation-individuation. It was suggested that the more balanced family cohesiveness, the less psychological control of parents, the more positive separation-individuation develops.. Second, looking at gender differences by sub-factor in terms of adolescention's separation-individuation problems, male and female adolescents’ parental psychological control has partially mediated the relation between family cohesion and engulfment anxiety, one of the subtypes of adolescent’s separation–individuation. Female adolescent’s parental psychological control has fully mediated the relation between family cohesion and separation anxiety, one of the subtypes of adolescent’s separation–individuation. This study's result may confirm the impact of families surrounding adolescents in the consultation scenes and provide information to parents and teachers to understand the importance of adolescent’s separation–individuation.
