어머니의 완벽주의가 심리적 통제를 통하여 여자 청소년의 도덕적 이탈에 미치는 영향

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 어머니의 완벽주의가 심리적 통제를 통하여 여자 청소년의 도덕적 이탈에 미치는 간접적인 영향을 검증하는 것이다. 연구 대상은 인천광역시에 위치한 한 고등학교에 재학 중인 419명의 3학년 여자 고등학생들로, 질문지법을 이용한 청소년의 보고를 통하여 자료를 수집하였다. 어머니의 완벽주의를 측정하기 위하여, Slaney와 Ashby(1996)가 개발한 ‘완벽성향척도(Almost Perfectionism Scales-Revised [APS-R])’를 김수연(2005)이 번안하고, 장은서(2011)가 수정한 질문지를 사용하였다. 어머니의 심리적 통제는 Barber(1996)가 개발한 ‘심리적 통제 척도(Psychological Control Scale-Youth Self-Report [PCS-YSR])’를 최명진(2010)이 번안한 질문지를 사용하여 측정하였으며, 마지막으로 여자 청소년의 도덕적 이탈은 Bandura(1996)등이 개발한 도덕적 이탈 기제 척도(Mechanism of Moral Disengagement Scale [MMDS])를 서미정과 김경연(2006)이 번안하고 수정한 질문지를 사용하여 측정하였다. 수집된 자료의 일반적 경향과 각 변인 간 상관관계를 분석하기 위하여 기술 통계와 상관 계수를 산출하였다. 다음으로 구조방정식 모형(Structural Equation Modeling: SEM)을 설정하여 간접효과를 살펴보았으며, 간접효과의 유의성을 확인하기 위하여 부트스트래핑(Bootstrapping) 방법을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 연구 문제에 따른 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 어머니의 완벽주의는 심리적 통제를 통해 여자 청소년의 도덕적 이탈에 간접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 청소년이 어머니가 자녀에 대해 완벽함을 추구한다고 받아들일수록 어머니의 심리적 통제 수준도 높게 지각하였으며, 이에 따라 여자 청소년의 도덕적 이탈이 증가하였다. 본 연구는 여자 청소년의 도덕적 이탈에 영향을 미치는 선행변인으로 어머니의 완벽주의와 심리적 통제의 영향력을 살펴봄으로써, 어머니의 심리적 특성과 이에 기인한 양육행동이 자녀의 도덕성 발달에 결정요인으로 기능함을 확인하였다는 데 의의가 있다. 특히 본 연구는 부모의 내면 상태 및 양육행동이 자녀의 도덕적 이탈에 미치는 영향에 있어서, 어머니와 딸이라는 가족 하위체계를 중심으로 이를 탐색하고 검증하였다. 이러한 결과는 청소년의 도덕성 발달을 위한 부모교육 프로그램 및 청소년의 사회 문제와 관련하여 도덕성 증진 프로그램을 고안해내는 데 이론적 기초자료로 활용됨으로써 청소년의 적응적인 발달에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.;The main purpose of this study was to examine the effects of mothers’ perfectionism on female adolescents’ moral disengagement through mothers’ psychological control. The participants were 3rd-grade female students from the girls’ high-school in Incheon. The adolescents were asked to complete the measures of the Almost Perfectionism Scales-Revised (APS-R), Psychological Control Scale-Youth Self-Report (PCS-YSR), and Mechanism of Moral Disengagement Scale (MMDS). To examine the general tendency of the variables, descriptive statistics and correlations were analyzed. Also, structural equation modeling was used to examine the hypotheses and bootstrapping were performed to confirm the significance of the indirect effect. The result of this study was as follows. Mothers’ perfectionism had an indirect influence on female adolescents’ moral disengagement through mothers’ psychological control. In other words, high levels of perceived mothers’ perfectionism influence female adolescents’ moral disengagement indirectly by an increase in perceived mothers’ psychological control. The finding of this study has important implications for research on female adolescents’ moral disengagement. The result demonstrates that mothers’ psychological attribute and parenting behavior related to perfectionism have a decisive effect on development of female adolescents’ moral disengagement.
