Prepare for Take-Off! Building Essential English Skills for Cabin Crew

Abstract

1. Introduction Purpose: To create a course book for cabin crew working for an airline company in Korea, or students who want to improve English skills for their career in cabin service. Rationale: Cabin crew need to improve their English skills, especially listening and speaking skills for clear communication with people so that they can provide proper responses when dealing with foreign passengers during flights. This book will help them improve their fluency as well as vocabulary and expressions with real world activities. Target learners: Cabin crew who need to improve their communication skills or college students who want to work for an airline company, mixed gender and ages. Proficiency: Intermediate Mid-High (ACTFL) Learning context: In house training or school program in college. 2. Method CLT/TBLT ESP (Cabin crew) 3. Expected Outcomes Learners will develop their language skills, especially listening and speaking skills. They will gain more knowledge and skills for in-flight service, as well as learn about proper manners. They will be able to understand the needs of passengers and how to respond to them properly. They will be able to deal with foreign passengers effectively in various situations.
