Abstract
By studying the fluctuations around a soliton solution of the two-dimensional principal chiral model, we have computed the degrees of freedom of the most general non-relativistic SU(2) Chern-Simons soliton solution. The number of zero modes for the n-soliton solutions has been found to be 4n, which implies that the most general soliton solution of the models can be generated by the Toda ansatz.
