Abstract

This article is about the adverbs of degree meaning small quantity in Korean, jokeum and its abridged form jom. In order to clarify the mechanism by which the small quantity implies a meaning of politeness, this article discusses the semantic meanings and functions as well as the syntactic features. © CRLAO-EHESS.
