매듭 이미지를 활용한 후식기 디자인 연구

Abstract

매듭은 끝맺음을 의미하기도 하지만 서로 다른 선을 엮는다는 의미도 갖는다. 후식 역시 본식을 마무리하고 친목을 도모하는 시간이라는 점에서 유사함이 있음을 발견하고 후식기 디자인의 모티브로 매듭을 선택하게 되었다. 매듭은 오래된 전승 공예기법으로 역사 속에서 다양한 형태와 용도로 발전되어 왔으며 현대에 이르러서도 계속 새로운 매듭이 생겨나고 있다. 논문은 매듭을 짓는 과정을 단순화하고 도식화하여 현대의 후식기에 적절한 디자인을 찾는 과정을 담고 있다. 본 연구자는 매듭의 형태에 관심을 가지고, 매듭을 짓는 과정에서 보이는 선들의 모습을 관찰하였다. 후식기는 상대적으로 자유로운 형태 변형이 가능하다는 특징이 있기 때문에 곡선이 주를 이루는 매듭의 이미지를 표현하기에 적합하다고 보여진다. 또한 매듭을 짓는 과정에서 느껴지는 교차의 이미지를 강조하기 위해 다양한 배치가 가능 하게 제작하였다. 다양한 배치가 가능한 후식기는 매듭의 의미를 강조함과 동시에 작품에 재미를 느끼게 한다. 사용자가 필요와 목적에 따라 배치를 다르게 하여 사용하게 함으로써 직접 매듭을 완성시킨다는 의미를 부여 할 수 있다. 작품 제작은 다음과 같은 순서로 진행하였다. 첫째, 매듭의 유래와 기본 형태를 파악하고 매듭의 이미지를 차용하여 만든 작품 사례를 연구한다. 선행 사례에서 부족한 부분을 찾고 다른 방향으로 매듭의 이미지를 표현할 수 있는 방법을 찾는다. 둘째, 후식기의 종류와 형태에 대해 알아보고 현대 후식문화의 이해를 통하여 제작 방향을 찾는다. 셋째, 매듭의 특징을 바탕으로 사용자의 미감과 후식기의 실용성을 고려하여 작품을 구상하고 제작, 수정한다. 현대의 생활 전반이 경제적, 문화적으로 크게 성장하여 풍요롭고 다양해졌다. 이에 따라 식문화 역시 기능이 세분화되고 전문화 되어가는 추세인데, 특히 후식분야는 식사의 개념을 넘어 문화를 공유하는 수단으로 발전하였다. 후식의 개념이 넓어지고 종류가 무궁무진해지면서 다양한 크기와 기형의 후식기가 필요하다. 본 연구자는 매듭의 이미지를 변형하고 선의 교차와 연결을 강조한 도자 후식기를 만들고자 하였다.;The knot is an old technique of craftsmanship that can not be deduced. The work was done in the following order.
