Abstract

본 논문은 필자의 석사 졸업 리사이틀 때 연주된 작품들을 연구한 것으로, 로베르트 슈만(Robert. Schumann, 1810-1856)의「시인의 사랑(Dichterliebe), Op. 48」과 세자르 프랑크(César. Franck, 1822-1890)의 「바이올린과 피아노를 위한 소나타 A 장조(Sonata for Piano and Violin in A Major)」에 대하여 두 작품의 작곡가와 작곡배경 그리고 음악적 특징을 알아보았다. 슈만은 19세기 예술가곡의 장르를 새로이 완성시켰다. 총 16개의 곡으로 구성되어 있는 시인의 사랑은 슈만의 ‘가곡의 해’라 지칭되는 1840년 하인리히 하이네(Heinrich Heine, 1797-1856)의 시 <Buch der Lieder>중 슈만이 선택한 16개의 시에 맞춰 작곡되었다. 이는 슈만의 대표적 연가곡으로 불리운다. 이 작품은 시와 음악이 완벽한 조화를 이루며 피아노와 노래부분이 대등한 중요성을 지니고 있다. 성악과 피아노의 관계를 알아보기 위해 「시인의 사랑」의 내용인 가사를 이해하고 반주부와 노래의 화성, 리듬, 선율을 살펴보았다. 프랑크는 후기 낭만주의의 대표적 작곡가로 벨기에 출신의 프랑스 작곡가이자 오르간 연주자이다. 그의 작품은 종교적인 색채가 강하다. 그는 후기 낭만 시대에 고전음악 양식과 낭만적 음악요소를 접목시키고 프랑스 순수 기악음악을 발전시키는데 큰 공헌을 하였다. 바이올린과 피아노를 위한 소나타 A장조는 1886년 작곡되었으며, 프랑크가 남긴 유일한 바이올린 소나타로 벨기에 출신의 바이올린 주자 외젠느 이자이 (Eugene Ysaye 1858-1931)에게 헌정되어 초연되었다. 총 4악장으로 구성되어 있고 반음계적 화성, 자유로운 전조 그리고 순환형식이 사용되며, 피아노와 바이올린의 중요성이 대등한 작품이다. 이 소나타를 이해하기 위하여 작품배경을 살펴보고 형식, 주제선율, 화성, 짜임새 그리고 리듬을 중심으로 악곡분석을 하였다.;As a study on the programs of my graduation recital for master's degree, this thesis examines Robert Schumann(1810-1856)’s 「Dichterliebe, Op. 48」, and César Franck(1822-1890)’s 「Sonata for Piano and Violin in A Major」. This thesis looks into the details of the composer’s musical background and musical features of each piece. Schumann newly completed the genre of Lied in the 19th century.「Dichterliebe」, a piece composed of total sixteen pieces, was written to match sixteen poems that Schumann selected from "Buch der Lieder" which is a collection of poems written by Heinrich Heine (1797-1856) in 1840. It is known as Schumann's representative song cycle. This work creates a perfect harmony of the poems and music, and both the piano and vocal part hold equal significance. To find out the relationship between vocal and piano part, I studied the lyrics of 「Dichterliebe」, and examined the chords, rhythms, and melodies of the accompaniment. César Franck, a representative composer of Post-Romanticism period, was a French composer and organist born in Belgium. His works have intense religious characteristics. During the Post-Romanticism period, Franck combined the forms of Classical period with musical elements of Romantic era, and made a huge contribution to the instrumental music of France. 「Sonata for Piano and Violin in A Major」 was written in 1886, and it is Franck’s only sonata for violin. The music was dedicated to and premiered by a Belgian violinist named Eugene Ysaye(1858-1931). The sonata that is composed of four movements shows the use of chromatic chords, frequent modulations, and cyclic forms. Also, piano and violin has equal significance in this music. To understand this sonata, I studied the background of the work, and analyzed the piece focusing on form, theme, chord, structure, and rhythm.
