Program Annotation

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the graduation recital program for the completion of the master's course. The program includes the pieces of <Ei, wie schmeckt der Coffee süße> from Kantate《Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht, BWV211》by J. S. Bach, <Oiseaux, si tous les ans, KV307>, <Dans un bois solitaire, KV308> by W. A. Mozart, <I Hate Music!: A Cycle of Five Kid Songs> by L. Bernstein. Johann Sebastian Bach, a representative composer in the 18th Century Baroque period, had composed about 200 church cantatas and 24 secular cantatas. The piece of《Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht, BWV211》consists of 10 songs. The fourth song by those, <Ei, wie schmeckt der Coffee süße> is the Soprano aria of A-B-A′form. It shows well the emotion of the heroine for coffee. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who established the style of the late 18th Century Classical period music, has written songs in the poems of German, Italian, and French. His French song, <Oiseaux, si tous les ans, KV307>, as A-B form's the through-composed song has been describing the story that migrant birds have to leave if climate and season have changed, because of the fate that could be only fallen in love with the flowering season. Meanwhile, other French song <Dans un bois solitaire, KV308>, which is the form of A-B-C-D-A′, a dramatic scene has been played with the story; a girl has to be in love with her past lover forever because of the reason that she woke the god of love while wandering the woods. Leonard Bernstein, a 20th Century American composer, is a musician of versatile talents as a recognized conductor, who is also famous for a music commentator and a pianist. Bernstein wrote the lyrics and the musics of《I Hate Music!: A Cycle of Five Kid Songs》himself. It is a song-cycle consisting of 5 songs. The story is about a ten-year-old girl telling her thoughts in a bright and innocence way.;본 논문은 필자의 석사과정 졸업연주 프로그램 중 요한 세바스티안 바흐(Johann Sebastian Bach, 1685-1750)의 세속 칸타타《조용히 침묵하세요, 잡담하지 말고(Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht), BWV211》에 나오는 소프라노의 독창 아리아 <아, 커피가 얼마나 달콤한가(Ei, wie schmeckt der Coffee süße)>, 볼프강 아마데우스 모차르트(Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, 1756-1791)의 가곡 <새야, 해마다(Oiseaux, si tous les ans), KV307>와 <외로운 숲에(Dans un bois solitaire), KV308>, 레너드 번스타인(Leonard Bernstein, 1918-1990)의 연가곡《나는 음악이 싫어요!: 다섯 개의 어린이 노래(I Hate Music!: A Cycle of Five Kid Songs)》에 대한 분석 연구이다. 요한 세바스티안 바흐는 18세기 바로크 시대를 대표하는 작곡가로, 약 200곡의 교회 칸타타와 24곡의 세속 칸타타를 작곡하였다. 그의 세속 칸타타《Schweigt stille, plaudert nicht, BWV211》은 총 10곡으로 구성되어 있다. 그 중 4번째 곡 <Ei, wie schmeckt der Coffee süße>는 A-B-A′형식의 소프라노 아리아로, 커피에 대한 여주인공의 감정이 잘 나타나있는 작품이다. 18세기 후반 고전파음악의 양식을 확립시킨 작곡가 볼프강 아마데우스 모차르트는 독일어를 비롯하여 이탈리아어와 프랑스어 시에 음악을 붙였다. 그의 프랑스어 가곡 <Oiseaux, si tous les ans, KV307>은 A-B형식의 통절형식 가곡으로, 꽃이 피는 계절만을 사랑할 수 있는 운명으로 인해 기후와 계절이 바뀌면 떠나는 철새에 관한 이야기를 담고 있다. 또 다른 프랑스어 가곡 <Dans un bois solitaire, KV308>은 A-B-C-D-A′형식으로 되어 있으며, 한 소녀가 숲을 방황하다가 사랑의 신을 깨운 죄로 인하여 옛 연인을 평생 사랑하게 된다는 이야기를 극적인 장면으로 연출하고 있다. 20세기 미국 작곡가 레너드 번스타인은 인정받는 지휘자였지만 작곡가·피아니스트·음악 해설가로도 명성을 떨쳤던 다재다능한 음악가였다. 그가 직접 작사·작곡한 연가곡《I Hate Music!: A Cycle of Five Kid Songs》는 총 5곡으로 구성되어 있으며, 10살 소녀가 천진난만하게 자신의 생각을 이야기해나가는 작품이다.
